Lauren Conrad: Swimsuit Guide

We are thrilled to share this story from Lauren Conrad! The TV personality, writer, designer, and style maven has started LaurenConrad.com, a social networking site that features daily posts by Lauren on all of our favorite topics — fashion, beauty, food, party planning — and Lauren will be sharing her latest fashion finds with Fab every month. This week, she's sharing her swimsuit picks.
Now that we are all getting in tip-top shape with my Bikini Boot Camp Plan, it's time to start actually shopping for the perfect swimsuit. I usually like to snag a new suit before Memorial Day since I almost always end up on the beach or at the pool… What about you?

Whether she's at a store opening, a fancy red-carpet affair, or just in jeans, Christa always has her sassy fashion sense on. Our Latest Obsession — Zimmermann's Surfer-Cool Tops
With Spring's sporty trend in high tow, we've become completely obsessed with Shopbop and Zimmermann's cool, and somewhat genius, capsule collection of rash guard tops. When it couldn't find any fashionable rash guards in sight, Shopbop enlisted Aussie swimwear brand Zimmermann to help create this amazing capsule collection, priced from $185 to $195, featuring pretty rose prints, bold colorblocking, and artsy mixed patterns. The tops are perfect for stylish surfers, but they can easily go from the beach to city, which we predict will be the likely case with most of us. We love the idea of pairing one with a black neoprene skirt and a sleek pair of platform sandals for a sport-chic Summer ensemble, or pair it with denim cutoffs and strappy flats for an effortless day at the park. On board? See and shop the collection in the slideshow now.
Pastel Gowns Take the Lead at Cannes Film Festival Day One
The Cannes Film Festival is off to a very stylish start thanks to pastel-clad celebrities including Diane Kruger, Freida Pinto, and Eva Longoria. Diane is serving as a jury member at this year's festival, which means we will be getting daily doses of her impeccable red-carpet style. She kicked off the opening ceremony in an ethereal, seafoam Giambattista Valli number that floated down the carpet. Freida Pinto and Eva Longoria also opted for softer shades on Cannes's first night. Watch today's Fab Flash to see all of these gorgeous pastel-hued gowns. On Allison McNamara: H&M top.
The Spring Runway Trend That Was Meant to Ruffle Feathers
The feathers were most definitely flying on the runways for Spring, and designers made it abundantly clear that a little touch of plumage can go a long way. At Louis Vuitton, Marc Jacobs showed an innocent young debutante, flitting about in frothy feather-trim dresses and candy-colored pencil skirts, while Ralph Lauren's runway spotlighted full-blown Great Gatsby-era opulence, giving way to beaded gowns and marabou toppers. Not only were feathers a huge runway trend, but they've been taking off on the red carpet too — just recently at the 2012 Met Gala, style stars like Diane Kruger, Kate Bosworth, and Beyoncé all sported gorgeous gowns fitted with the fluffy stuff, proving that feathers can look fun, flirty, and ultimately glamorous. The best news of all? A feathered dress, skirt, or a bit of feather trim on a top can be incredibly wearable for day or night. We're giving you a head start on trying the trend by rounding up 10 of our favorite feathered pieces for Spring. Click through to see and shop them all now.
Celebrity Color Trend Alert! Peach + Yellow
Though on opposite ends of the globe, Marion Cotillard and Jaime King were both feeling the same fresh color combo: peach and yellow. Marion posed for the Cannes cameras in a peach chiffon Dior frock and yellow Versus pumps ($695), while Jaime opted for a peach Porter Grey sheath and yellow cap-toe Aldo pumps with an Amanda Pearl clutch ($1,295) at the Hanky Panky for Hello Kitty launch in NYC. We love seeing new color combos — like light blue and green — emerge in Hollywood, and this fresh and feminine mix is particularly noteworthy. Shop our favorite peach and yellow pairings below to re-create this Spring-perfect color blend.

Kristen Stewart Wears a Harness Over Her Dress While Promoting Snow White
While continuing to promote Snow White and the Huntsman, this time in Madrid, Kristen Stewart chose a sheer BCBG Max Azria dress from the label's pre-Fall 2012 collection, but it's what she wore on top — a harness vest — that really caught our eye. While we admit that it's a tough accessory to pull off, if you have fashion fearlessness, then it can really transform your look. On its own, Kristen's BCBG dress would have been pretty, but with the black leather harness, it veered into fashion-forward territory. Next time you throw on your favorite frock, consider topping it with a black harness, like this one from Yuzefi ($197). For something less pricey, get this one from ASOS ($31). You can even wear your harness over a tank or a feminine blouse to make it tough.
