Nicole Kidman's Red Cannes Number Proves That Sheaths Can Be Sexy!
Nicole Kidman is known for her classy style sense, but at the 2012 Cannes Film Festival, where she promoted her new flick The Paperboy along with Matthew McConaughey and Zac Efron, the actress proved that the classic sheath can also be sexy! Nicole chose an orange red Antonio Berardi knee-length sheath with a fabulous side slit, then finished off with Manolo Blahnik peep toes and a gold Omega watch. While her exact dress isn't available, this red Antonio Berardi dress with a single side zip ($1,740) is equally stunning, especially since you can unzip it as much as you like. For something less pricey, try this Mango red slim-fit cocktail dress ($100). Or for an even sassier take on the classic sheath, get this Versace cutout red dress ($711, originally $1,105).

Mad For Madras: Shop 15 Quirky Printed Plays on Summer's Preppier Plaids
Forget schoolgirl plaid — this colorful take on the checkered trend is totally Summer friendly and a bit quirkier, too. To get that "just gone to Nantucket" look without having to venture further than the nearest sunny spot, incorporate a subtle mix of madras-patterned pieces into your warm-weather wardrobe. While the style is grounded in preppier renditions, there's no reason not to inject your own cool-girl sensibility into each madras-laden look. Try a seersucker Bermuda short covered in a cool patchwork print with a slouchy tee and espadrille wedges, don a breezy madras button-up with ripped denim cutoffs for an evening on the beach, or go for bold in a madras blazer-and-trouser combo. If you're feeling this plaid iteration for a pop of Summer prep, shop our editors' madras picks below now.
