Imagine our surprise when we saw Beyoncé Knowles arrive on the Met Gala red carpet on the arm of none other than André Leon Talley. The megastar and new mom looked gorgeous in a Givenchy Couture gown — and what a gown it was. The dress, adorned with intricate beading, lace, and lots (and lots) of feathers, fit B like a glove and showed off her rather impressive postbaby body. We're smitten with Beyoncé's look, to say the least — and because it was such an ornate, jaw-dropping take on the Met Gala, we felt it necessary to show you her ensemble in true Fab fashion. Click through to see each amazing angle of Beyoncé's red-carpet look now.

Met Gala 2012 — Who Wore What
The Met Gala is the fashion event of the year, and for 2012, we saw metallic dresses, peplum and feathers, sexy backs, and of course plenty of Prada ascending the famous red staircase. The event, honoring the Costume Institute's exhibit Schiaparelli and Prada: Impossible Conversations, promised to be an unforgettable one, with highlights including Nina Dobrev in Donna Karan Atelier and Gwyneth Paltrow in a short Prada number. Start clicking for the complete breakdown on who wore what.
All Angles: Karolina Kurkova Gets Gilded and Gorgeous in Rachel Zoe at the Met Gala
We're filing this Met Gala look under legendary: Karolina Kurkova is a vision in Rachel Zoe's custom-made gold-sequined gown. The supermodel took the red carpet by storm with the bold and beautiful confection, topped with a coordinating turban and finished with a jaw-dropping display of diamond bangles and rings. With confidence and glamour, she carries the '20s-inspired outfit perfectly, making it one of the most dramatic looks on tonight's red carpet — and with Karolina's playful poses, one of the most fun to watch. Click on to see every stunning angle and find out exactly why we're so smitten.
Met Gala: Julianne Hough
Julianne Hough may have walked the Met Gala red carpet with boyfriend Ryan Seacrest, but the dancer and actress made a statement in her own right in a hot pink strapless Carolina Herrera dress with black neckline detail and an extravagant fishtail hem. Julianne wore her hair down and in loose waves, and accessorized the standout gown with a pair of chandelier earrings. We love that she chose to go easy on the baubles with such an attention-getting gown; what do you think of her Met Gala look?

Met Gala: Anja Rubik
Anja Rubik definitely made a hot impression at the Met Gala tonight — the model stunned in a supersexy white Anthony Vaccarello gown, and got a proverbial "leg up" on Angelina Jolie's Oscars look with her sultry red carpet poses while walking with the designer. Anja didn't wear much jewelry, save for chandelier earrings and a slinky pair of black chain-strap pumps. Though the look is definitely heavy on sex appeal, Anja isn't the first star to gravitate toward Vaccarello's cutout designs — Karlie Kloss and Gwyneth Paltrow are also fans of his. So, what do you think of Anja's look; was it too much, or just enough?
Met Gala: Leighton Meester
Leighton Meester's gold tulle Marchesa confection at tonight's Met Gala would put even alter ego Blair Waldorf to shame. The style pro played it super femme in the princess-style gown with a sheer inset at the neckline and gilded embroidery throughout. The Gossip Girl star's swept back locks revealed just a pair of diamond studs, while a golden clutch in hand echoes the gown's ultraglamorous feel. What's the verdict on Leighton's look?

Met Gala: Lily Collins
The lovely Lily Collins was just that on tonight's Met Gala red carpet. The actress was the picture of sweetness and femininity in a soft floral-print and lace-trimmed Valentino gown. A darling bow cinches the waist, but Lily opts for unexpected accessories, choosing an exotic gold adorned clutch, then finishing with a simple pair of gold studs. Save for those gorgeous brows and a hint of blush, Lily needs little else to complete her look. What do you think?

Met Gala: Jessica Chastain
We saw opulently dark hues, flashes of bold oranges and yellows, and now, we've got Jessica Chastain's shimmery blue Louis Vuitton number to add to our Met Gala color spectrum. Her corset-style, full-skirted dress was encrusted with jewel-lined embellishments, giving the metallic satin an even more dazzling sheen effect. The actress complemented her statement gown with soft side-swept waves, a dark red lip, and understated Harry Winston sapphire-and-diamond earrings. What do you think of her cool blue look?

Met Gala: Liv Tyler
Continuing her enviable streak of wearing head-to-toe Givenchy looks, Liv Tyler donned yet another iteration of the French designer's wares. This time, in a black deconstructed reverse racer-back tank dress, complete with sexy front leg slit. Liv styled the floor-length gown with minimalist-chic black sandals, a stack of diamond-encrusted Fred Leighton bracelets, and leaf-shaped earrings. It certainly was a pared down pick for the evening's festivities — do you agree?
