For its Fall '12 lineup, H&M marries the art of minimalism with high-impact detail. It's another covetable collection from the retailer, this time finishing streamlined silhouettes with bursts of color, statement print, and decadent accessories — and there's something for everyone in this batch of goodies. From the slickest kind of pencil skirt, finished with leather and adorned with peplum, to a perfect wooly cocoon coat, this crew of separates is as fit for the cool-girl as they are the sophisticate, with a palette of rich autumnal burgundy, gray, and flashes of metallics that speak decidedly to the season. As if the moody hues aren't enough, the cozy fabrications from mohair to tweed, bouclé, and jacquard will have you feeling Fall in no time flat. Click on for the complete lookbook.
We've already showed you some standout trends from the Met Gala including peplums and metallic hues, and now we're bringing you our final trend report from fashion's biggest night — sexy, backless dresses. Celebrities dared to bare some skin on the red carpet including Rihanna, Kate Bosworth, and Gwyneth Paltrow. Watch today's Fab Flash to see who else flashed some serious skin at the gala. On Allison McNamara: H&M dress, Low Luv x Erin Wasson necklace.
There is no doubt about it, pairing a minidress with sky-high pumps is super sexy, but when we spotted Isabel Lucas styling her peacock Proenza Schouler frock with badass embroidered knee-high boots at the Met Gala, we couldn't help but fall in love. Although this isn't the first time we've seen this too-cool pairing — Jessica Alba toughened up a floral Heartloom frock with rugged lace-up boots, while Karlie Kloss vamped it up in a purple mini and futuristic black boots — Isabel's minidress and boot combo inspired us to scour the globe for the chicest celebrity dress and boot combos. Step inside to see how 15 trendsetting fashionistas edged up their sexy frocks with killer ankle, lace-up, and thigh-high boots, then shop the trend for yourself!
The latest outfit Jessica Alba wore while strolling the streets of New York wasn't very springy, but the white Proenza Schouler PS1 bag ($1,225) she carried with it sure was. Proenza's PS1 collection has been a hit ever since it first debuted a few seasons ago — there have been endless colors and styles, including neon yellow, purple, and floral print, as well as classic black. But the small one Jessica toted around is just what your Spring and Summer wardrobe needs. Note that there are large PS1s, medium ones, and the wallet and clutch style. But we think the small size, like the one Jessica has, is superior because it fits all your necessities without being overly huge. Plus, you can wear it as a crossbody. If you've been on the hunt for a light-colored bag to carry all Spring and Summer, consider investing in Proenza Schouler's PS1 in the white color and small size. It'll look fabulous with all your warm-weather clothes, especially printed dresses and denim cutoffs.
Out of all the possible color combos to try this season, we're feeling especially sweet on pairing shades of blush and taupe together for a pretty, impossibly girlie take on Spring dressing. Ready to channel your inner ballerina this Spring? We've put together some key blush and taupe pieces and styled up some fresh, chic examples for you to follow for work, weekend, and party time. To celebrate Mother's Day properly, we want to honor not just our moms, but yours too! It's as simple as this: behind every chic FabSugar girl, there's a chic mom. And while poring over fashion magazines, following your favorite designers, and tapping into your own creative juices certainly informs your style, so do all those years of having your mother help dress you. Case in point: we wouldn't have those awesome high-waisted jeans or ridiculously cool cropped sweaters without these ladies in our lives (among other things). To show just how thankful we are of our mothers' stylish trailblazing ways, we're working on an epic roundup to showcase their style past and present. Want to get in on it? Simply upload your look in our Look of the Day group, and you may just spot your mom in our biggest Mother's Day slideshow yet.
While out and about in NYC this morning, Paula Patton worked leather on leather, starting with a black leather biker jacket, which she topped over a printed tee, then adding more leather via black leather pants. She wore retro-cool round shades to protect her eyes, then got in on Hollywood's sneaker obsession via black-and-white high-top Chanel sneakers. While leather is fierce on its own, it has even more badass potential when paired with itself. For a Summer version of Paula's look, try a black leather vest with leather shorts or a leather miniskirt.
In addition to its amazing designer collaboration collections, Target's main fashion lines — Mossimo, Converse One Star, and Xhilaration, to name a few — pack some fashion punch as well. Take a sneak peek at Target's newly unveiled Fall '12 collection, showcasing a cute array of soft crop wool trousers, ladylike printed pencil skirts, and sweet printed blouses. Additionally, we spotted a covetable range of outerwear, from smart, classic trench coats adorned with contrast piping to a Navajo-inspired poncho jacket. Accessories included soft suede fringed bags, color-pop ballet flats, and our personal favorite, leopard-print booties. Affordable fashion at its best; check out more snaps from Target's Fall '12 preview in the slideshow.
