Nothing exudes a bohemian Summer vibe quite like flower headbands, and celebrities like Kirsten Dunst, Keira Knightley, Vanessa Hudgens, and DJ-and-electric-violinist duo Mia Moretti and Caitlin Moe are all over the fresh accessory trend. Kirsten and Keira wore theirs on the red carpet, Vanessa sported her flower headband at 2012 Coachella, and Mia and Caitlin donned theirs while working at the Thorny Rose Wines launch event in NYC. Whether you're into colorful flowers or subtle hues, pick out the perfect headband to add a whimsical edge to everything from jeans to dresses. Shop our favorites below.
Taylor Swift exuded retro chic while hanging out with boyfriend Conor Kennedy and his dad, Robert Kennedy Jr., at his family's house in Hyannis, MA. The singer sported a red halter polka-dot bikini top and navy-and-white striped Marc by Marc Jacobs shorts ($104, originally $148) on bottom. Taylor then completed her vintage look by tying a printed bandana around her head and painting her lips red. Before Summer comes to a close, be sure to mimic Taylor's vacation look by pairing a similar polka-dot bikini top with striped shorts. Don't forget to dress your head with a printed scarf for that signature Taylor Swift aesthetic. Shop similar pieces below to get started.
Lea Michele and her Glee castmates filmed scenes for an upcoming episode in NYC, and Lea's character Rachel looked impeccably chic in a black-and-white ensemble. Her onscreen style is normally less sexy and more geeky chic, so this polished nighttime ensemble is a fabulous change and one that is easy to re-create. Up top Lea wore a black tank topped with a crisp white Theyskens' Theory blazer ($675), while on bottom she donned short black shorts with black platform Marc by Marc Jacobs pumps ($295). A gold nameplate necklace and a black Marc by Marc Jacobs bag ($258) completed her TV style. Throw your white blazer over an all-black look to mimic Lea's onscreen style for your next night out. San Francisco's Outside Lands festival has come and gone, and in its stead, we're left with a three-day mashup of concert-going looks. Unlike Coachella's beat-the-heat style mantra, this weekend's fest served up a cool plate of slightly grungier Woodstock-inspired ensembles, all with an overcast weather twist. Perhaps, this is exactly what we needed, though, as we head into Fall — a real reason to mix and match summery pieces with heavier layers and sturdier footwear. Look to the oversized cardigans, tie-front denim blouses, crop top domination, and ankle boots as a sure indication that even the most music festival-ready outfits have a place in our autumnal wares lineup. Take a look at our 10 favorite Outside Lands style snapshots inside.
Tide® has enlisted the help of actress Betty White, the ultimate Hollywood rule breaker, to spread the word that Tide® is re-introducing its Tide plus Bleach Alternative detergent as Tide VIVID White + Bright. The new name is designed to communicate the product benefit of keeping white clothing vivid and bright, wash after wash. Together, Betty and Tide will show people across the country that they can disregard all the rules they previously subscribed to when wearing white – like not playing outside or eating messy food – and feel confident knowing they can trust their white clothing care to Tide VIVID White + Bright.
“I’ve never been one to follow the rules. I don’t pay attention to what people say I should do and always do what makes me happy—like continuing to act at the age of 90!” says Betty White. “I have used Tide forever and I’m excited to work with them to get other people to do the things they love while wearing white. I absolutely love wearing white and I am so pleased that I now can do all the things I love while wearing it without having to worry.”
Tide is also releasing Tide VIVID White + Bright Boost, which is designed to give your laundry that extra boost for the peskiest of stains. For more information about Tide VIVID White + Bright and Tide VIVID White + Bright Boost, visit www.tide.com or www.facebook.com/Tide.
With a résumé that includes top catwalker, actor, and now designer for Dr. Martens, it's safe to say Agyness Deyn has come a long, fashionable way. "Dr. Martens have been ingrained in my life," said the English beauty, recalling stomping the grounds in her thick-soled Dr. Martens boots as an adolescent, then progressing later on as she became the face of the campaign ads in recent years. Agyness's debut Dr. Martens collection, dropping in stores and online beginning Aug. 15, features a wide range of cool-girl clothing featuring plaid jumpsuits, bright quilted jackets, and sweet daisy (Agyness's favorite flower) print dresses. For accessories, Agyness stayed true to the brand's iconic thick-soled shoes, but this time, remixed the formula in sexy patent leather and thigh-high silhouettes. We also love Agyness's colorful array of heart-shaped leather bags. Read on to see what Agyness had to say about her Dr. Martens collection, then click the slideshow to see the complete ad campaign and every piece from her new line.
FabSugar: What kind of girl to do picture wearing your Dr. Martens collection?
Agynes Deyn: Someone up for experimenting. Those thigh-high boots [in the collection] are so great because they are so sexy, but also have a hard edge. That's what I like about the collection; it has a very sexy vibe but not too provocative. You can wear it un-buttoned or however you want; it's not too much like t*ts and ass. It's subtle.
FS: Do you have a favorite when it comes to modeling, acting, or designing?
AG: I never really know until it arrives, really. It depends on the project. My aim in life is to work without feeling like I am working. Also, working with people that also like to have fun.
FS: What do you like to do when you're not designing, modeling, or acting?
AG: I like jumping around! I also like to swim a lot and being on beach and sea.
FS: Who do you think is the quintessential London girl?
AG: Pixie Geldof. She is London, I love her. She's not serious, she likes to have fun, she's just like whatever.
If you have a floral romper in your closet, now would be the ideal time to dust it off just like Katy Perry and Rumer Willis did while out and about in LA. Katy wore her short-sleeved floral romper with a studded Alexander Wang bag, black ballet flats, and silver coin earrings, while Rumer sported her black floral romper with matching black flats and a red string necklace. Their exact rompers are not available to shop online, but you can peruse our favorite floral rompers below. Pair your pick with flats or sandals now, then later with tights and booties to savor the look through Fall.
