Our Interns Share Their Back-to-School Shopping List!
One of our favorite things about back to school is, of course, the prerequisite shopping that needs to be done before heading back to campus. While our college days are way behind us, we asked our two adorable NYC Summer editorial interns, Robert Khederian and Colleen Doyle, to share their collegiate must-haves list with us. Robert, recent grad from Williams College, prefers cool leather loafers and luxe totes, while Colleen, current student at Manhattan College, looks to fun jolts of colors and leather statement pieces. See each and every piece they're shopping for, then tell us what's on your back-to-school lust list!

Kristen Bell Brings Menswear to the Red Carpet
Kristen Bell usually delivers feminine silhouettes and bright shades on the red carpet, so we were surprised to see her sporting a pantsuit last night at the premiere of Hit and Run. Kristen styled up a Jenny Packham Fall 2012 look for the night, proving that pantsuits aren't just for tall girls. Watch on to hear more about her outfit in today's Fab Flash. On Allison McNamara: H&M jacket.

Rachel Bilson grabbed lunch with a friend in LA showing off her unique Summer style in this Rag & Bone mixed-print dress ($395), nude-and-black Rebecca Minkoff flat sandals ($220, originally $275), and celebrity favorite thick-rimmed sunglasses. Celebrities Go Edgy Chic in Leather Paneled Dresses — Shop the Look
Jennifer Garner promoted her new flick, The Odd Life of Timothy Green, in NYC in a navy-and-black leather paneled dress and black peep-toe mary jane pumps, both by Yves Saint Laurent. While leather paneled dresses are not new on the scene, Jennifer's look reminded us how chic and edgy the trend can be when done right. We also love Whitney Cummings's black-and-white leather paneled dress for a more dramatic effect and Khloe Kardashian's A.L.C. black-and-tan leather dress ($1,150) for a subtle approach. Depending on the color scheme you go with, leather paneled dresses can be worn everywhere from the boardroom to a fancy soiree. To get the celebrity-favorite look, shop our favorite picks below.

In the Army Now: Military-Inspired Pieces to Add to Your Arsenal
Fall's military trend isn't unlike the actual military; it's an age-old tradition, expertly skilled, and ready for anything. From season to season, the utilitarian look can take on many forms — and between sharp, structured silhouettes, elaborate embellishments, and classic camouflage touches, designers definitely brought out the big guns for Fall 2012. The overall aesthetic was punctuated by crisp coats and capes with fitted trousers along with traditional military touches like epaulets, strong shoulders, and knee-high boots — all in a dark, moody color palette of khakis, blacks, and grays.

Kate Beckinsale Colorblocks Blue and Coral Like a Pro
Kate Beckinsale nailed the colorblocking trend by tucking a coral tank into a blue pencil skirt, both by Diane von Furstenberg, then adding a little edge via spiked Christian Louboutin pumps while promoting her new movie Total Recall in Ireland. The brunette beauty accessorized her brights with celebrity-approved white sunglasses, Melinda Maria drop pyramid earrings ($80) — available for pre-order — and a high ponytail. Re-create Kate's bright colorblock ensemble with a coral tank, blue pencil skirt, and embellished pumps for a professional, yet playful look.
