For J.Crew's Fall campaign, don't look to big names and high-profile supermodels for your fashion fix.

For J.Crew's Fall campaign, don't look to big names and high-profile supermodels for your fashion fix. Instead, the retailer has enlisted a motley crew of fashion-forward individuals to show off its polished, preppy wares. Look to the quirk and attention to detail within these minimalistic ads, all of which conclude with the phrase "We know you're out there." Whether it's a print-on-print masterpiece modeled by the gorgeous Caroline Issa or a covet-worthy blue satchel toted by cool-girl Julia Sarr Jamois, or even a slick yellow blazer by cult beauty-brand founder Linda Rodin, you'll fall equally in love with J.Crew's Fall lineup as you will with the personalities behind this latest campaign effort. Not sure who they are? We've got the complete campaign — plus the 411 on these fashion insiders — right here.

Malin Akerman was among the stylish stars that feted Vena Cava's new Fall collection at Chateau Marmont hosted by GenArt last night.

Malin Akerman was among the stylish stars that feted Vena Cava's new Fall collection at Chateau Marmont hosted by GenArt last night. For the occasion (far left), she wore the label's paisley-print silk pants with a black American Apparel crop top, Vince Camuto clutch ($168), and these VC Signature wedges ($225). About her bottoms, the actress told us: "Look at these pants, they're kind of amazing." When asked to describe her personal style, Malin said, "It's definitely a little bit more laid-back, rock 'n' roll, something with a little bit of an edge usually."

With Summer in our midst, we wondered what Malin's favorite warm-weather pieces are. "A sarong is always great. I just had an amazing vacation in Italy so that was a super essential," she spilled. "You can wrap it into a dress. There's so many different ways to do it. And then of course, a pair of jean shorts. Always need those." As for what you can expect to see Malin rocking this Fall? "I'm a big leather person, so I'm always on the lookout for new leather jackets that might be in style. I get excited to see what's coming up, but I have no idea what's on the horizon, so it's always a nice surprise." Shop some of Malin's favorite pieces below to nail her sexy-slash-rocker aesthetic!

Get an Exposed Side-Zip Dress Like Kate Upton For Way Less!

Sports Illustrated bombshell Kate Upton attended an event in NYC last night wearing a red Antonio Berardi dress ($1,318) with nude Yves Saint Laurent platform pumps ($825).

Sports Illustrated bombshell Kate Upton attended an event in NYC last night wearing a red Antonio Berardi dress ($1,318) with nude Yves Saint Laurent platform pumps ($825). From the front it looked like any standard sheath dress, but when Kate turned to the side, bam, a sexy exposed zipper running down the side was revealed. We've seen a plethora of exposed-zipper dresses — mainly running down the back — but we're absolutely loving the side exposed zipper detail; it's fresh and subtly sassy. While Kate's exact is available to shop, we did also hunt down a very similar and less-expensive style that comes in three colors: this Hybrid midi-length dress with side zip feature ($145). Wear it to the office with a blazer and pumps, then come night, throw it on with strappy sandals and shiny baubles to party chic.

Ask Lauren: How Do I Break Into the Fashion Industry?

We are thrilled to share this story from Lauren Conrad!

We are thrilled to share this story from Lauren Conrad! The TV personality, writer, designer, and style maven has started LaurenConrad.com, a social networking site that features daily posts by Lauren on all of our favorite topics — fashion, beauty, food, party planning — and Lauren will be sharing her latest fashion finds with Fab every month. This week, she's sharing her tips for snagging your dream fashion job.

I hope everyone enjoyed my last Ask Lauren post! Today I will be answering a question that many of you have messaged me about: breaking into the fashion industry. Here's the question:

Hi Lauren, I am currently taking a journalism class and I love all things fashion and beauty. I even have my own YouTube channel dedicated to it and a blog too. I really want to work in the fashion industry—maybe editorial or design. Do you have any tips for me?

Great question! It sounds like you are already well on your way to having a great career. Judging by your current experience I am assuming you would want to work for a fashion magazine or website. My suggestion would be to start circulating your resume and keep working on your blog and YouTube channel. You should also try and start an internship sooner rather than later. Having a few internships under your belt before making any major career decisions is crucial. I cannot stress that enough. I learned so much from my internships and they were key in getting me to where I am now. At the end of the day, it is about gaining hands on experience, which will make you more appealing to potential employers. Plus, it will be beneficial since it will help you decide what you do and do not like. There are a few ways to go about applying for an internship.
