Jessica Alba was spotted strolling LA wearing a new Stylestalker floral tuxedo blazer ($200) on top of a white tee and electric-blue Current/Elliott tuxedo jeans ($218). Black perforated sandals, a gray colorblock bag, and a bevy of jewels completed her daytime cool. Printed blazers are all the rage these days, and so are florals, so that's double the reason to add Jessica's blazer to your mix. Wear it with jeans and flats for a casual stroll during the day, with trousers and pumps for work, and over a little black dress or leather pants for night.
Alice Eve attended the LA premiere of Lawless in an ensemble that perfected the mix of geeky and fancy. She paired a white scooped tee, which she tied at the bottom, with a black embellished skirt, a Chanel bag, and Tory Burch lace-up pumps. For jewels, the actress sported a turquoise ring and a bevy of bangles. Then here's where things got majorly geeky: her black-rimmed glasses. We admire Alice for experimenting with her look and perfecting the mix of casual and fancy on the red carpet. Re-create Alice's look when you're feeling geeky chic by sporting a white tee with an embellished skirt, then finishing off with studious glasses.
When celebrities want to look fashion forward on the red carpet, they turn to one label in particular: Cushnie et Ochs. Designing duo Carly Cushnie and Michelle Ochs consistently deliver the most unique pieces that are part futuristic, part ladylike, and always sexy. Hemlines are usually demure, but details like cutouts and peplums make each dress stand out. Everyone from Malin Akerman to Chanel Iman to Jamie Chung — the latest to don a Cushnie et Ochs dress — have been spotted posing in their pieces. See who else loves the label, then shop your favorites.
There's no better way to get to know our favorite celebrities than with a serious social media debriefing — mostly because we can't really think of any other "place" where these starlets get as candid, silly, or as behind-the-scenes with their off-duty lives. This week, we were privy to Doutzen Kroes's Miami adventures, Jaime King's Hart of Dixie hair and makeup session, Katy Perry and Rashida Jones's spontaneous dance party hangout, and Rihanna's snorkeling antics. Not to mention, we got a sneak peek of what Miranda Kerr's been doing Down Under, spotted what Busy Philipps is shopping for (hint: it's a whole lot of neon!), and saw just how stylish Bar Refaeli is when she's traveling. As beach vacations wrap up, set call times beckon, and Fashion Week looms, we're loving this onslaught of end-of-Summer social media-savvy updates from quite a chic crew.
We found a familiar face in the crowd a last night's celeb-filled Clos du Bois Rouge launch in LA — the gorgeous Jaime King stepped out for the occasion in a coral-hued Jason Wu cocktail confection, making us fall even harder for her killer style — and her pretty awesome fashion philosophy. Stylish both off — and on screen as Hart of Dixie's Lemon Breeland — King also has some pretty poignant advice to pulling off a look as chic as her own at last night's fete (see below), plus the fashion wisdom she's garnered from her TV alter-ego. Read on, in the next 60 seconds, you might become as smitten as we are.
On her Fall shopping list: "There are these really great Chanel loafers that I'm dying to have. There's this beautiful dress from Calvin that's white, that I really love. Madewell has a really kick-ass couple of pieces. There's a brown leather backpack — lots of fun stuff."
On her style philosophy: "Find your best feature and accentuate it. Something you feel really confident in. I really like, I guess, my neck and my shoulders. So I try to wear things that accentuate that. I never wear short things. I'm not into showing off my legs. Not because I don't like them, but I'm more modest. I feel like it's much more elegant to kind of be sexy while covering up."
On up-and-coming designers she loves: "I really love Haider Ackerman. He's amazing. I really love Prabal [Gurung] . . . There's so many fantastic designers that I love! I really like McQ."
Emma Roberts made a coffee run in LA clad in a gray motorcycle-style jacket, navy skinny jeans, these black Jenni Kayne d'Orsay flats ($610), and cat-eye sunglasses. It was a moody color palette for Emma, but luckily her blue crossbody bag by Jerome Dreyfuss ($850) made her outfit pop. Score Emma's exact bag and shoes to incorporate into your everyday style, or let her inspire you to use colored bags to amp up your darker clothes during any season.
Jennifer Lawrence headed inside LAX airport showing off her too-cool travel style: a pair of faded skinny jeans by Current/Elliott, a white knit tee, matching white Leisure Society clubmaster-style sunglasses, and these Rachel Zoe snakeskin flats ($235). If the bag on her arm looks familiar, that's because it's the same Cobra Society tribal-print bag Jessica Alba recently debuted. Whether you're airport bound or not, score Jennifer's exact bag ($850) and snakeskin flats to breathe life into your jeans and t-shirts. Add these white Ray-Ban clubmaster shades ($150) as a bonus to really nail Jennifer's travel style.
Jaime King was among the stars that attended Clos du Bois's nighttime affair at Chateau Marmont last night and for the special occasion, the actress wore a beautiful orange draped Jason Wu dress with this Jason Wu box clutch ($1,750). While her top half was super delicate, her black strappy Jason Wu sandals with studs along the platform lent major edge to her ensemble. Orange dresses are all the rage right now so Jaime was right on trend. Re-create Jaime's look for your next dressed-up affair by pairing this L'Agence coral draped dress ($207, originally $295) with killer black sandals and a chic box clutch.
