Ashley Greene stole the night at the LA premiere of The Apparition last evening in a brilliant fuchsia gown. The Donna Karan Atelier number has a sweetheart-style necklace, cascading ruffles at the hip, and a sexy slit. Since Ashley tends to reach for shorter silhouettes — like fit-and-flares and sheath dresses — it was nice to see her go for a little drama in a floor-length gown. This week's best-dressed celebrities ran the style gamut: there was a major orange crush, the perfect mix of sporty and classic, a sweet retro look, a chic-as-hell neutral outfit, and way more to love. We particularly admired how Jessica Alba paired her Stylestalker floral tuxedo blazer with tuxedo-style Current/Elliott jeans, how Jaime King made us fall in love with orange for eveningwear, and that Eva Mendes made sure she stood out in her printed Thakoon dress. Other notables included Taylor Swift, Kim Kardashian, Jordana Brewster, and Katharine McPhee. Check them all out, find out why we chose them as top stars, then draw inspiration from their stylings for yourself.
Jessica Alba's stylist Brad Goreski calls her the layering queen, so it's no surprise that she mastered the art even while spending time with her kids in LA. The actress started with a mint-colored high-low sleeveless Rails blouse ($108), topped with a black leather motorcycle vest, and leather-paneled leggings by Kymerah ($130). She then threw on fabulous accessories to finish strong: caged wedge sandals by Surface to Air, a two-tone gray Tod's bag, a gold bar necklace, a silver cuff, and a couple of beaded bracelets. Layering is tough to achieve, but next time you want to take a stab at it, look to Jessica's latest ensemble. Remember to play with proportions, colors, and textures for a unique take.
Summer days might be numbered, but that's no reason to curb your style game, as evidenced by this week's top 10. We spotted style favorites like Diane Kruger and Eva Mendes making the most of their days in the sun with Summer classics like cutoffs, floppy hats, and printed wear-everywhere day dresses. In the way of eventwear, we get a lesson in ladylike dressing from Maria Sharapova, who charmed us with a collared mini and sweet pointed-toe pumps, and more from the likes of girl-crush Jordana Brewster and Jessica Chastain inside. The rest of the week's style stars are right this way.
While Fashion's Night Out certainly gives way to an evening of retail indulgence, that doesn't mean it's a walk in the park. Translation: between the party hopping and navigating crowds, it's as much a night of fabulous fashion as it is a test of one's strategic styling. In an effort to minimize wardrobe stress, we've already mapped out three easy-to-emulate ensembles that cover all the FNO bases. If you're feeling Fall's oxblood-red obsession like we are, you're the perfect candidate for our sophisticated schoolgirl outfit. Plus, how slick (and cozy) do those printed calf-hair loafers look? If you're a denim loyalist, try on a coated iteration, complete with edgy zipper pulls and a crisp white finish. Don't stop there, though. We've got a little lace, a little paisley, and a little ankle-boot adoration, too. There's no time like the present to brainstorm outfit ideas — Sept. 6 is but a stone's throw away, so keep clicking.
Who would've thought that two of our favorite fashionable fixtures actually share the same birthday? Today marks both Rachel Bilson's 32nd and Blake Lively's 26th, making it a pretty special day. Both ladies possess amazing styling skills — Rachel excels at crafting the coolest in street-styled looks, while Blake has us completely awestruck with her red carpet appearances. In honor of the very chic birthday girls, we've put together a look at their fashion résumés — both on and off the red carpet — and it's up to you to settle the score: which of the birthday girls takes the win? Click through and cast your vote!

The trick with shopping the end-of-Summer sales is whether or not you'll actually wear your new purchase (like espadrilles or a great sundress) a month later. With this round of sale shopping, we make it worth your while with a cool crop of functional, flat loafers you'll wear now and later. As a testament to their staying power, this menswear-inspired footwear trend looks just as chic with a pair of cutoffs and a striped tee as it will with slick leather pants and a polished blazer come Fall. We're especially drawn to the printed, metallic, and tasseled pairs for added outfit oomph, though there's also a batch of more traditional varieties for the classically inclined girl. Click on to shop 13 perfect pairs to slip into now and well into Fall.
Dakota Fanning packed on the accessories while grabbing lunch with a friend in Beverly Hills. The actress started off with a sheer white tunic, topped over a polka-dot crop top, finished with these 7 For All Mankind distressed denim shorts ($87). Her accessories included a white fedora with black ribbon, clubmaster sunglasses, an oversized embellished clutch with dangly coin detail, and silver platform sneakers. Mimic Dakota's eclectic look for your next lunch date by shopping similar pieces, including her exact shorts, below.
It's time for the final I'm a Huge Fan: Kristen Bell! After a series of exciting adventures, our lucky winner Madison is ready for her big meeting. In episode one, Madison and her friend flew to LA and were treated to a fashion makeover to find the perfect outfit for her interview. In episode two, Madison got to meet a sloth and record a Gossip Girl voice-over in the studio where Kristen actual works. It was all leading up to this — check out their adorable chat. Kristen opened up about working with fiancé Dax Shepard — and learning who is actually the most important person in his life — plans for a Veronica Mars movie, whether she'll actually appear in Gossip Girl this season, and, of course, her love of sloths. Big thanks to Revolve Clothing. Check out I'm a Huge Fan: Kristen Bell and see Hit and Run in theaters now.
