Paris Fashion Week is heating up, and we've come across several stylish attendees sitting front row at all the big shows. Fresh from showing her own collection at New York Fashion Week, Rachel Zoe is over in the City of Light to see the Spring collections from the likes of Lanvin and Christian Dior. And of course, all the major editors are out in full effect — we spotted Anna Wintour in an enviable Prada coat and Giovanna Battaglia in a silver zebra jacket at Lanvin. Watch on for all the details! On Allison McNamara: Myne top.
This week's top stars ran the style gamut in printed pieces, pastel palettes, and chic travel ensembles. Kristen Stewart mixed color into her Fall wardrobe in Paris, working a yellow Balenciaga leather jacket and printed pants, also by the designer; Alessandra Ambrosio chased the fleeting Summer sun in a crisp white blazer, mint Hudson cutoffs, and studded Valentino pumps in LA; and Kim Kardashian wowed us in black and white colorblock Sass & Bide pants in Sydney. These ladies are just a few of the standout style stars, so cruise through to see who else was crowned, then shop their stellar looks for yourself.
We're well aware that there's some major fashion happening in Paris right now, but we've also got to pay homage to the looks that stole our attention away from the City of Light. In this week's top 10, Poppy Delevingne's eventwear, Nikki Reed's Hollywood cocktail fare, and Brooklyn Decker's gala-perfect LBD set a pretty high bar. Fortunately, the rest followed suit — a mix of chic albeit dressed-down styling from the likes of Jessica Hart and Alessandra Ambrosio, while Lauren Conrad and Kristin Cavallari rounded out the mix with their respective plays on street sleek. What do harnesses, petals falling from the "sky," sexy bondage-inspired silhouettes, and Vogue Paris's Emmanuelle Alt have in common? All were spotted at the Nina Ricci Spring '13 show. Our style director, Noria Morales, and Fashionologie editor, Christina Pérez, give us the latest scoop fresh from the show — from their first impressions of the not-so-typical opener and favorite looks to which industry style setter made it to their front-row seat in just the nick of time, it's all here. There are some shows that feel so effortless, so on point, and so simple, you leave feeling light and happy and wishing you had the biggest closet in the world. That was the feeling after leaving Vanessa Bruno's light-as-air and totally pretty Spring 2013 show. Having ended up with a stroke of luck that put me in the front row, I got to witness the soft silk dresses that floated on the models, the way Bruno's sharply tailored jackets were cut to make everyone look 10 times better, and the hugely covetable leather strappy ankle booties that had a fresh gladiator vibe. Vanessa Bruno dances the delicate line between bohemian and polished, and the clothes here always felt put together (I saw at least 10 outfits I would love for my work wardrobe) but with a loose, bohemian spirit. The dresses were gorgeous — particularly the ones with embroidery and eyelet. If I could tell you to invest in anything next season, it would be one of Bruno's fabulous blazers and one of these soft dresses. Some shows are inspiring because they're so innovative, but this one was so inspiring because it was simply so pretty.
While exiting the Brentwood Country Mart, Jessica Alba showed off her latest colorful LA style by working a Genetic Denim vest with a white tee and fabulous printed pants. Her accessories of choice — mirrored sunglasses, a shiny silver Dolce & Gabbana purse, and colorblock peep-toe pumps — were equally snazzy. If you're looking for a new way to rock your denim vest, consider pairing it with bold bottoms, like this pair we love from Mango ($50) or these from Tibi ($300). For a more cozy version, swap the tee for a long-sleeved sweater and the pumps for boots.
Houndstooth has its shining moment every Fall, so if you haven't dabbled with the classic print yet, now is the time. But before you checker yourself out, take a gander at three celebrity trendsetters and how they recently rocked houndstooth. Kelly Osbourne carried this Jil Sander houndstooth clutch ($270) with her bright colorblock ensemble at New York Fashion Week Spring 2013, Gwen Stefani threw on a houndstooth Stella McCartney blazer over her silky black jumpsuit in London, and Leigh Lezark sported a blue House of Holland houndstooth top with black jeans at the designer's show at London Fashion Week. Inspired by these celebs, we set off to find our favorite houndstooth pieces for Fall. Shop everything from Kelly's exact clutch to checkered blazers, tops, skirts, leggings, and more.
Kristin Cavallari may have just had a baby boy, but her sheer stripe BCBGMAXAZRIA top ($85), red leather Veda skirt, and beige ankle-strap Zara platforms showed off her fit figure while running errands in Hollywood. In true SoCal manner, Kristin completed her look with a no-fuss ponytail, gold hoop earrings, and her engagement ring. Black leather skirts are abundant in Hollywood, but oxblood is quickly becoming the It color for Fall, which is why we particularly love Kristin's choice. Pair a dark red leather skirt with everything from a printed button-down blouse for the office to this colorful Madewell cardigan ($92) for a cozy date night.
