The Golden Globes didn't provide the only red-carpet fodder for the week — in fact, far from it. And it would be remiss of us to not pay proper homage to the noteworthy looks of the week just because they didn't happen to enter the Beverly Hilton last Sunday evening. Among the stylish contenders for our top 10 honors? Birthday girl Kate Moss showed us yet another way to rock a serious leopard coat, and Scarlett Johansson, in an all-black Dolce & Gabbana ensemble, attended the opening of her Broadway show Cat on a Hot Tin Roof. Julianne Hough went bold with a neon-orange fit-and-flare dress, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley showed off another (read: printed) Céline luggage tote to covet, and Sarah Jessica Parker donned another urban-chic getup, albeit with a puffer-vest twist. The Spanish retailer's newest January arrivals supplied sleek leather trousers, chic coats, cozy knits, and classic stripes. Meanwhile, the Spring catalog, featuring models Karmen Pedaru, Edita Vilkeviciute, and Malgosia Bela, paid homage to the '90s via bleached denim, cool leather bombers, and an array of slick separates we'd like to work into our 9-to-5 wardrobe right now. Chloë Moretz's airport outfit exhibited the kind of style that we want to emulate every day of the week, and it came courtesy of three chic black pieces. While the lighter scarf, black watch, and round sunglasses provided the polish, we're looking to the darker elements for our main outfit formula. Her boxy black car coat was feminine and sleek and isn't in danger of ever going out of style. Thus, pair this no-fail outerwear staple with a slimming silhouette (skinny jeans or even a not-so-slouchy boyfriend cut will work!) on bottom to keep the integrity of the outfit's clean lines intact. Chloë's black Prada tote may be a bit of a splurge if you plan on following suit, but the lesson to take here is a boxy handbag — in a neutral tone — will never steer you astray. To finish, her ensemble got its youthful twist via black wedge booties. Yes, they're sophisticated, but they definitely feel like a playful footwear option in place of a patent-leather pump or strappy heel. While running errands around LA (on more than one day in a row), Jennifer Garner showed off her brand-new shoes: these Isabel Marant Basley black suede tassel booties ($600), which also come in camel and white. At first glance, we thought they were high-top sneakers, but upon closer inspection, we realized they're actually a cross between a sneaker and a bootie — genius! While the price tag is rather steep, we think these booties are worth the investment for a few reasons. First, they're by Isabel Marant, so they're automatically cool in our eyes. Second, they look super comfy. And third, they might just be the new shoe trend of the year (stay tuned). Side note: we also love the way Jennifer wore her new shoes, with a boyish blazer, a plaid blouse, skinny jeans, and a white scarf. All in all, it's a head-to-toe outfit win.
