Two Days, Two Ways: Eva Mendes Shows Us How to Remix Our Boyfriend Jeans

It always warms our hearts to see a celebrity recycling a piece of clothing (we're looking at you, Kate Middleton and Michelle Obama), and when it happens in a few days' time, it's even more inspiring.

It always warms our hearts to see a celebrity recycling a piece of clothing (we're looking at you, Kate Middleton and Michelle Obama), and when it happens in a few days' time, it's even more inspiring. Sure, we'd rather see Eva Mendes with her actual boyfriend, but we were happy to catch the actress styling up a pair of slouchy, distressed boyfriend jeans two different ways over the weekend. One day, Eva cozied things up by layering a black tank over a fitted navy-blue sweater and pairing her jeans with tan Isabel Marant wedge sneakers. The next day, Eva went for another laid-back look, this time with a billowy striped button-down and neutral ankle booties. For both daytime outings, she carried a sleek, two-toned leather crossbody bag and retro cat-eye shades — the perfect low-key accessory for an afternoon spent running errands. Click below to shop similar pieces and copy Eva's two cool outfits for yourself.

Taylor Swift Rocks Out in Red on NYE

New Year's Eve might be over, but we're still not quite over Taylor Swift's red-hot outfit.

New Year's Eve might be over, but we're still not quite over Taylor Swift's red-hot outfit. The country star took to the stage during Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin Eve with Ryan Seacrest to perform two songs off of her hit new album, Red. Dressed accordingly, the singer added in the perfect dose of festive shine with a red sequined Iro jacket, a favorite moto jacket of ours, and played off the edgy accents by pairing it with tough leather pants. Click on to hear more about Taylor's bright NYE getup. On Allison McNamara: Greylin top, Vita Fede necklace and ring.

While hanging out with boyfriend Austin Butler in Hollywood, Vanessa Hudgens showed us how to winterize our Summer maxi dresses with a few cozy staples. The actress wrapped a cozy black Stylestalker tube scarf a red long-sleeved maxi dress while toting this studded Alexander Wang bucket bag ($850). Vanessa completed her bold look with metallic platform sandals, round shades, and a bevy of mixed-metal accessories. Take a cue from this look and pair your bohemian dresses with a cozy scarf, then swap her sunny sandals for boots for additional warmth.

Be Cool — and Stay Warm — in One of These Beanies

This time of year is all about staying warm in layers — and with all the right cold-weather accessories.

This time of year is all about staying warm in layers — and with all the right cold-weather accessories. As much as we love our felt fedoras, it's high time we traded them for the much cozier beanie. They're a cold-weather staple with good reason — and thanks to iterations from Marc Jacobs and Missoni, they're as cool as they are warm (you follow?), shielding our ears from the chill while they give our whole look (just see the street style below) a sporty-chic twist. On that note, we've culled a few of our favorite options for your shopping pleasure. Just check out all of our editors' picks below now.

Miranda Kerr's Yellow Blazer Punches Up Her Winter Style

It seems Miranda Kerr has a thing for yellow these days.

It seems Miranda Kerr has a thing for yellow these days. First she sported a yellow sweater with jeans, and just a few days later she showed off a bright-yellow Stella McCartney blazer while heading into Whole Foods in West Hollywood. The model tempered her bold blazer via a floral Erdem top, a miniskirt, and nude pumps, then added these Stella McCartney tortoiseshell sunglasses ($190) and a black Miu Miu crossbody bag to round out her style. To re-create Miranda's latest look, just throw on a yellow blazer over your ensembles, from skirts to dresses to jeans.

Take Two! — Olivia's Beachwear Actually Doubles as Streetwear

If you're anything like us, then you've probably been wondering: where has Olivia Palermo been?

If you're anything like us, then you've probably been wondering: where has Olivia Palermo been? Not to worry, we're making up for lost time with a double dose of the style star's sartorial prowess — her latest, perfect-for-resort looks. While vacationing with beau Johannes Huebl in St. Barts, Miss Palermo showed off two unexpectedly chic beach ensembles, making use of a day-to-night maxi, a staple white blouse, and a ladylike pleated skirt. Consider this the most versatile of vacation style, the kind that makes use of pieces that you could wear at home (and practically year-round) as well. Rather than spend on paisley tunics or sarongs that have that beach-exclusive feel, Olivia's pieces go from the sand to the city without a lot of hard work — we're breaking it all down (and giving you the key pieces) right here:

  • The chiffon maxi: Believe it or not, Olivia's luxe-looking snake-print maxi is also a wise investment. This piece looks breezy layered up over a bikini and finished with sandals (as Miss Palermo clearly proves), but the length and fabric are also begging to be layered with more substantive pieces. Add a black slip underneath, black tights, ankle boots, and a furry vest and you've got a glam look you could wear right now (and not at the beach).
  • The easy button-down and skirt: We probably don't have to tell you why these pieces are so versatile on the main land — each of these is a closet staple that's easy to dress up or down, and warm up with jeans or tights. Olivia's take shows us the other side: how these wardrobe mainstays double as beachy cover-ups. Because of their lightweight fabrics and bright hues, they're easy to transform with other, more Resort-feeling accents. Want to take your button-down and mini to the beach? Just do as Olivia does and add in a pair of shades, a raffia tote, and metallic flip-flops to give them a laid-back feel that will match your vacation destination.

Make use of the same key pieces and shop our editors' picks below.
