When Kate Mara stepped out at the Lincoln Center last night to promote her new series, House of Cards, she had some support from younger sister and fellow actress Rooney Mara. It was a red-carpet family reunion that provided two very different takes on event dressing. Kate showed off her feminine fashion inclination in a metallic lace Dolce & Gabbana confection, complete with platform heels and a framed clutch, while Rooney served up a more pared-down aesthetic in Band of Outsiders suiting, then finished off her menswear vibe with lace-up boots. We love that both sisters each offer a unique style perspective, so much so that it's hard to picture these sisters raiding each others' closets growing up — with Kate channeling a more ladylike, trendier feel and Rooney staying true to her edgier eventwear. Now, we're turning it over to you. In this sartorial battle, which sister's style gets your vote?

Today we're taking on a cold-weather staple that can be tricky to style: the sweater dress. We chose a dark green version from Club Monaco as the canvas for all of our outfits. Watch on to see how you can style your sweater dress for work, the weekend, and even a night out. Look of the Day: Outerwear With Interest
One of the easiest ways to craft a standout look this season is by selecting the perfect coat to complement your dress. Case in point: Fab reader beijosTiffany's white coat with black piping. The solid coat contrasts beautifully with the bold colors and stripes of her dress, providing the ideal pairing to the skirt's lively print. All she needed was a pair of black wedge ankle booties (perfect for providing traction in the snow!) to finish her look off in style.
Congrats, beijosTiffany!

Brighten Your Winter Style With Head-Turning Tips and a Chance to Win $2,000
Yeah baby, it's cold outside — but there's no need for the New Year's blustery winds and plummeting temps to put a freeze on your fabulousness! Plus, enter your name and email address below for a chance to win $2,000 towards purchasing the standout trends of the season, as well as goodies from Crest 3D White that promise radiant results!
Bold Is Better A basic black coat is always reliable, but it won't exactly garner a second glance. Instead, opt for a "statement coat" in a rich color like oxblood or a daring (but very of-the-moment) yellow. Play around with patterns like plaid or prints like leopard. Still fearful of making a big commitment? Accessorize a more neutral camel or navy coat with an eye-catching bag or a luxurious fur scarf.
Cinch It Don't let those Winter layers hide your flattering silhouette. Invest in a few quality belts of varying styles to cinch around sweaters, cardigans, and even your wooliest coat to accent your feminine curves.
At Your Fingertips Remember, those fingerless gloves that make texting so simple will put your nails center stage. Make sure they're ready for their close-up by moisturizing regularly with a rich hand cream and giving an occasional rub with cuticle (or even olive) oil. Polish with a dramatic hue like red or amethyst.
Crowning Glory Can't deal with dry, frizzy tresses? One of the year's runway staples, the "headband braid," is the ultimate hair fix. Simply plait wet hair into two braids and pin to the top of your head. Jazz it up with dangly earrings or add jeweled bobby pins for a hint of sparkle. And since this style can last for a few days, you can avoid over-shampooing and over-drying — both of which continue to dry out your hair and scalp during the harsh Winter months.
Standout Smile If you're not whitening, you're yellowing. Crest 3D White Whitestrips remove 10 years of stains for a smile that's magnetic, alluring, and, most of all, attainable. Click here to learn more about the entire Crest 3D White collection, including Whitestrips and toothpaste. When used together, you'll see a whiter smile in just one day.
