Spring 2011 New York Fashion Week Interview: Erin Fetherston and Kelly Osbourne
In an interview with Erin Fetherston, we hear about the sense of wanderlust the designer was feeling when creating her Spring 2011 collection, "Birds of Paradise." Fetherston explains that her collection expresses a sense of exotic travel, with vivid colors for the evening and neutral colors for the daytime. Kelly Osbourne loved the flowy, feminine designs represented in the collection and says she wants every piece.
Spring 2011 New York Fashion Week: Erin Fetherston
Erin Fetherston's Spring 2011 collection was an eclectic mix of updated jungle safari fashion in beige and nude hues, and tailored trousers, blazers and blouses created in flowing fabrics for the female form.
Erin Fetherston Has Her Work Cut Out for Her at Juicy Couture
>> Erin Fetherston was hired as guest designer and creative consultant at Juicy Couture in April, three months after the label's co-founders and co-designers Gela Nash-Taylor and Pamela Skaist-Levy gave up their day-to-day responsibilities to launch their own label next year. Fetherston will design for Juicy Couture until the end of 2011, and has already shown a Holiday 2010 collection, which included "bugle-beaded blazers, sateen-trimmed jackets and beribboned draped skirts to bustier dresses," WWD writes.
While she's only contracted to design the Holiday and Fall 2011 Juicy Couture collections, Fetherston definitely has some legwork to do for the brand. When Fetherston was brought in earlier this year, retailers had been complaining about Juicy Couture's fit and quality, and said the line needed to be reinvigorated.
Erin Fetherston, Linda Fargo, and More Do Drag for Paper's September 2010 Issue
>> Erin Fetherston's name is typically associated with super feminine designs, but on the set of Paper's recent shoot, which captured women like Fetherston (below), Bergdorf Goodman SVP Linda Fargo, and Rachel Roy in menswear and mustaches, she admitted: "I've started to wear pants a lot, having been a dress-only girl for so many years. It's interesting to have a balance." Jenny Shimizu, who also took part, told Paper she's working on something new as well: a book of her life experiences, particularly "carousing around" in the '90s supermodel scene.

Trend Alert: In the Navy
Lauren Conrad suited up in the navy this week — and she wasn't the only one sporting the trend. Jessica Biel also donned a playful Erin Fetherston jumpsuit in the same deep sea hue. And why not? This is an easy silhouette, and the moody midnight color is a chic Summer alternate for your basic black. The key is to work the sexy angle to avoid looking like you're in uniform. Try a little ruffle à la Lauren, or go strapless and bare some skin — anchors away!
Jessica Biel Takes Paris in Erin Fetherston: Love It or Hate It?
Jessica Biel is no girlie girl — she said so herself in Glamour's July issue — so it's refreshing to see her in so many super-femme ensembles during The A Team promotions. During their latest stop in Paris, Jessica opted to wear a navy and black Erin Fetherston jumpsuit from the Spring collection. Not only does it have a ruffle lapel, but it also has a large bow belt. Double the girlie! She certainly has the body for it, but do you love or hate Jessica in this look?

Erin Fetherston Relaxes Her Look and Adds Denim For Resort 2011
Erin Fetherston offered a slightly more relaxed point of view for her resort collection, showing denim for the first time and challenging herself to build a self-contained, everyday wardrobe. As one would imagine, Fetherston's denim was polished and ladylike (a high-waisted pant and skirt) and the same can be said for her new daywear (satin blouses, a ballerina dress in nude, cute peplum skirts, and skinny black trousers), which will have Fetherston fans cheering. "It's not just about cocktail dressing," said the newly appointed Juicy Couture designer and creative consultant. Of course, the princess of party dresses did not disappoint in that department either. Click below for the complete resort collection from Erin Fetherston.
