Overalls have been on my mind for nearly a year, ever since they first started to seem more stylish, less middle school last Summer. I wasn't quite ready to take the plunge then but kept thinking about them . . . what would I wear them with? Where would I wear them? The office? Weekends only? I finally got my own pair (er, second if you're counting the Limited Too denim I wore circa sixth grade) and have to report: so far, it's been awesome.

Winter wear is certainly trickier than it'll be once the weather thaws. I layered them over a cable-knit sweater, topped with a heavy shearling jacket, and shoved my feet into snow boots. I wouldn't say I looked sleek, but I definitely felt comfortable! After years of near-exclusivity with skinnies, the roomy fit felt fantastic, and the very being of overalls means no tight waistband. But don't go into it thinking the men in your life will rave; this isn't a guy-friendly sort of buy. But once you pair them with a basic tee or flowy tank and slip on a pair of sandals or ankle boots, your best girlfriends will go crazy for the look. Do yourself a favor and pick up a pair now.
