Would You Go This Far to Distress Your Jeans?

You know how it goes — you buy a brand new pair of distressed jeans you're superexcited about, only to be asked if you "actually paid for denim with holes." Some people just don't understand the allure of a slightly grungy, laid-back look.

On the other hand, it seems that zookeepers at the Kamine Zoo in Hitachi City, Japan, get us. They tossed some denim to a bunch of tigers and lions — and those guys went to work. Of course, there were toys wrapped up inside the pants, because, after all, animals need a bit of an incentive to become designers.

The Zoo Jeans are on display this month and are being auctioned off as a fundraiser for the World Wildlife Fund. We love a little creativity when it comes to shredding denim. But tell us, how far would you go to fashion a perfectly worn-in pair? Would you enlist your resident pet, or do you prefer to go at it with a razor and some scissors? Of course, you could always just take the easy way out and pay for your skinnies, preripped.
