It's hot, I'm sweating, and I can't even imagine lugging a leather bag underneath my armpit. That's why I'm living la vida linen. Linen bags are a great substitute to leather during the warm weather. My lust of the moment is this Foley + Corinna Linen City Clutch ($175). Besides the Fab color, it won't leave me feeling sticky and will keep my everyday essentials cool and comfy. Spice up your handbag collection and breathe in some linen.
Minus the fact that the model (Toni Garrn) is average at best, and I keep staring at the awesome paint background instead of the clothes, I am enamored by Jill Stuart's Fall 2008 ad campaign. It's gritty and messy, yet manages to look polished. Through these ads, the brand has perfected the dichotomy of grit and glamour. I admit I prefer Lindsay Lohan as a Jill Stuart model over Toni, but you can't beat this kind of setting. What do you think?
The fashion world is heavily influenced by Africa and Asia as we speak. And it's a good thing because those countries have a lot of undiscovered trends to offer. British designer Matthew Williamson was ethnically inspired for Spring, and as a result, we saw a lot of beading, mixed prints, and bold colors. To make the yellow mini dress Anja Rubik is wearing more interesting, Matthew threw on a khaki jacket and a beaded belt. If you want to channel a faraway place this Summer, you should do the same.
Get the Look: Appliqué and Reverse Appliqué
Cameron Diaz's Oscar de la Renta dress, which she wore at the Women in Film Awards, reminded me of another beautiful lady who's fond of appliqué and reverse appliqué. In fact, this designer marks them as signature techniques in her fashion and home décor lines.
We all know boots are made for walking but what about a hybrid of your two favorite accessories? This A'N'D Large Flat Heel Turn Lock Tote Bag ($360) completely boggles my mind. I'm confused. . . and freaked out. What do you think?
It's not surprising one of the key colors for Resort is white; and ancestors of: ivory, off-white, bone, and fog. But this group has enough floral energy to keep the trip from being stark. As well, tailored jackets are toughing up ultragirlie looks — per Abaete pictured. The '70s is shaping up to be a favorite decade; whether Halston-eque (at Derek Lam) or bohemian (at Galliano). Oh, and there are going to be enough flirty dresses to keep all the PYTs happy year round. As for fashion rebel Alexander McQueen, he admits, "There's lot of exposed leg, but it's all very understated luxe and non-PC in a healthy way." Whether under- or overstated, Resort continues . . .

Naomi Campbell managed to dodge prison time at her court hearing at West London's Uxbridge Magistrates Court. Campbell was charged with six offenses from her latest spitting hissy fit in April at British Airways after losing a piece of luggage; two of which included assaulting a police officer.
Naomi's prosecutor interpreted the model's outburst stating, "Miss Campbell explained . . . the reason why [losing the bag] was so awful for her was that she was contracted to wear a particular Yves Saint Laurent outfit on a US chat show, and it was in the bag which hadn't been loaded."
Campbell was sentenced to 200 hours of unpaid community service and $5,420 in fines. This is the second time that Campbell has been ordered to perform community service; the model served a similar sentence last year in New York.
Rihanna bundled up for her appearance on The Late Show and looked perfectly chic while waving to her New York fans. She kept things simple in all black but mixed patterns and textures to create a unique look.
