Louise Roe predicts Fall 2010’s top trends will fall into two categories: feminine or futuristic. In one camp, designers like Zac Posen, Carolina Herrera, and Monique Lhuillier are taking cues from old Hollywood silhouettes as seen on the red carpet. In the other camp, fashion-forward thinkers Alexander Wang, Marc Jacobs, Yigal Azrouël, and Project Runway winners Christian Siriano and Irina Shabayeva are taking a more avant-garde, Avatar-inspired take on what’s to come. Hear all about it.

As you know, I've been experimenting with all-black outfits. I'd like to continue the theme while I'm at New York Fashion Week. Can you help me put together a head-to-toe black outfit that can transition smoothly from day to night? It's fine to throw in some gold and silver jewels, but stick to mostly black please. Remember, it's cold in NYC right now, so layer me up. I'll start you off with this Eugenia Kim Chunky Braided Scarf ($94, originally $188); I'll throw it on when I'm feeling the chill.
Let's go Fab Finding. Be sure to come back and tell me your Fab Finds are up, or just tag your Fab Finds with New York Fashion Week. Now, you can build outfits by creating your very own widget of clothing items. We have everything you need to build outfits, and you can use your Fab Find bookmarks, too. This is an even better way to put together an entire outfit when completing your Fab Finding missions. Learn what a Fab Find is and how to make one. And here's a detailed explanation of bookmarks from GeekSugar.

Keds. What's not to like? Add sequins to the classic, and it's fashion gold. Alice + Olivia is teaming up with the iconic brand creating a fancier version of Keds’ classic Champion style. Available for $88 in four colors — black, silver, pale pink, and safari green — they will launch this Spring at select Neiman Marcus stores, neimanmarcus.com, as well as at Alice + Olivia boutiques and aliceandolivia.com.
A+O founder Stacey Bendet explains: “I don’t think I removed Keds from my feet as a kid. I can’t even count how many pairs I had. We decided to do a collaboration that would bring a little Alice + Olivia fun to the 2010 Keds Champion.” Super cute, enough said.
Couture Week came and went — did you follow our exciting coverage? Since we couldn't be there live, I asked you to make believe we're all invited to sit front row, smack dab in the middle of all the fashion madness. Did you construct an outfit that would knock everyone's socks off? Let's find out!
I started you off with these Alexander McQueen Star Platforms ($799) because couture requires sexy, whimsical theatrics.
Look #1, created by Zivanod, is front-row appropriate — love that Rick Owens top.

I felt a little bohemian this morning and pulled out my Summer maxi dress. It was windy day, so I layered up with a knit sweater and leather jacket. Though you can't see it, fleece lined tights keep me super warm underneath it all. Part hippie, part punk.
