I love having nice-looking nails, but my always-on-the-go life doesn't leave much time for manicures, much less lay-about nail-painting sessions at home. That's why I love nail buffing, and the OPI 1-2-3 Luster Buff Board is the best tool I've found yet. The soft, gentle surface is great for smoothing out ridges and giving your nails a healthy, glossy glow—like a clear coat, but more natural. It will make your nails look polished even if they're not. You can buy one here for $5.95.
On Tuesday, I asked you guys to come Fab Finding with me to put together a cute and comfy maternity look around this Mimi Maternity Stretch Twill Skirt, available for $58 here. Teamsugar's Fab Finders did an awesome job at cute clothes to pair with the skirt. Here's a sample at some of the different looks.
Yesterday I did a round-up of cute powder compacts that also function as fashion accessories. But I just found what may be the cutest one yet: the new Benefit Some Kind-A Gorgeous, which comes in a retro compact is designed to look like an old 45. The makeup does double-duty as a powder and a base, but it's also translucent, so it won't look cakey. I can't wait to try it for travel or midday touch-ups. You can buy it for $26 here.
Whether you're shopping for groceries, running errands at Walgreens, or even going on a shoe-buying spree, why not make "No thanks, I don't need a bag" part of your vocabulary? Not only are plastic and paper shopping bags wasteful, but it's also far more comfortable to carry a reusable canvas tote. Here are some cute and roomy shoppers that will help you just say "no" to bags.
On Wednesday I asked you guys which classic star's groundbreaking style you admire most. The winner, by a huge margin, was Audrey Hepburn. Fabsugar must really have its finger on the pulse, because Gap is thinking along the same lines with the ads for its Audrey-inspired Skinny Black Pant. Just check out this fabulous new TV spot that just debuted.
New York Fashion Week officially kicks off today, but on Wednesday, I was lucky enough to attend a fabulous pre-Fashion Week runway show at New York's Soho House, unveiling the Spring line from Secrets of Charm, created by designer sisters Sharon and Estee Elkayam.
Inspired by Bibi Anderson's character Sara in the Ingmar Bergman film Wild Strawberries, the line abounds with feminine, flirty, springtime frocks made from light and simple fabrics like silk, chiffon, and twills. Adorned with lots of exquisite details, the classic forms combine playful patterns—like gingham, polka dots, stripes, and florals—with ruching and ruffle details that give the line a modern and delicate edge. Singer and actress Selena Gomez posed for pictures at the 2009 American Music Awards with a pretty pink smile on her face. She took advantage of the occasion and went glam; wearing a Talbot Runhof sequin dress with black strappy heels.
