Now that the heat waves are under control and fall is just around the corner, it's hard not to take note of all the cute new cold-weather items coming out—specifically, the fisherman caps that everyone is crazy for right now.
I absolutely love this adorable Coach Fisherman's Wool Cap. It's a limited edition, so you can't buy it online, but you can buy over the phone for $148. Just call (888) 262-6224 and ask for item number 80019.

The DKNY Runway Hat is a fall and winter must-have. So much so that it's currently sold out online and in stores. Mark this very special suede cap as one of your Fab Finds and check DKNY for new shipments. It sells for $145 and is available in chocolate brown, plaid, and black; more colors are TBD as the season progresses.

Flats are all the rage right now, and the style goes great with anything from skinny jeans to skirts and dresses. Plus, when they have a little bit of sparkle and sequins, flats can add some flair to whatever you wear. Here are three of my picks for fabulous, glittery flats.
I simply adore Tracy Reese's clothes, and these Bowtie Kitten Schmid Sparkle Flats are really something special. They aren't sold online, but you can call the Tracy Reese flagship store in NYC at 212-807-0461 to order a pair. They are available in silver or bronze and sell for $355. Just keep in mind, they run half a size to a full size small.

With friends like Chloe Sevigny and fans like Scarlett Johansson and Sean Lennon, Imitation of Christ designer Tara Subkoff has been a celebrity darling since the line's launch in 2000. The label is high concept to say the least, transforming salvage clothing into new, avant garde pieces and turning runway shows into quirky happenings. At last night's unveiling of the Spring 2007 collection, waiters roamed with buckets full of Budweiser and guests gazed at the fashions from runway-side recliners.
The fashion, meanwhile, struck an eclectic, childlike vibe, with models wearing flat sneakers and toting stuffed animals like girls dressing up in their mothers' clothes. That is, if their moms' style tended toward boxy, asymmetrical dresses, wide cummerbund-like belts, and 1970s-era pants jumpers. To see the highlights from the show, read more
As both a lip balm addict and a lip gloss lover, I have a hard time deciding which gooey stuff should go on my lips at any given moment. Even if I want a nude look for my lips, plain old lip balm doesn't give me the polished look I need. For that reason, I am currently obsessed with C.O. Bigelow Mentha Lip Shine, made by the Greenwich Village apothecary brand that's sold at Bath & Body Works. I love this stuff for so many reasons, starting with the super-high-gloss finish that makes even nude lips look nicely made up. Better yet, the moisturizing shine feels more like lip balm than lip gloss (note: kissing partners will appreciate this), and the tingly, minty flavor (advertised as a breath freshener) doesn’t conflict with my gum. You can buy it here for $7.50.
I actually love this chain-adorned handbag and small-pleat baby-doll top from the Rock & Republic Spring 2007 runway show on Saturday. Unlike many runway fashions, these pieces would easily translate to the real world; I could easily see myself combining this cute top and dramatic bag to wear out to a concert or a nightclub. There's just one problem: While this visible panties look might work on the runway, the outfit needs some bottoms if it's going to leave the house. A skirt, hot pants, some skinny jeans—anything!

If Burberry or Louis Vuitton gave birth to a rebellious daughter, the result would be something like the Spring 2007 line from Rock & Republic, unveiled Saturday evening at New York Fashion Week. In true rock-tinged form, the Los Angeles label—known for its edgy, high-end denim—was the last show of the night and featured plenty of leather, glitzy-gold hardware, dark eyeliner, and oversize sunglasses. Taking a page from old-school luxury labels like LV, the line also showed off a number of sassy spring trenches and even mini dresses and belt buckles emblazoned with the R&R logo.

If you spend a lot of time taking care of your face, your hands are probably feeling a little bit neglected. The summer pool and beach time—not to mention the usual abuse from cooking, cleaning, and working—has made them look old and scaly. Here are my favorite luxurious and super-rich hand creams to make sure that your hands are just as pampered as the rest of your body.
L'Occitane Shea Butter Hand Cream happens to be one of my favorites, as well as one of the company's best sellers. This hand cream (they now have a Lavender Hand Cream as well) is a super-smoothing, indulgent balm made with 20 percent shea butter, honey, sweet almond extract, jasmine, and ylang-ylang oils. It also contains anti-oxidizing vitamin E to help nourish damaged skin. Your hands won't feel greasy or oily after use; rather, they'll feel refreshed and soothed. Buy it here for $25 for 5.2 oz or get a travel-size for $9.
