Karl Lagerfeld Defends Fur You know, with so many fabulous faux fur options, it's hard to understand why some designers refuse to offer cruelty-free designs. Or, at least, it was, but now we understand perfectly. 6 Comments
To say it's been a crazy couple weeks would be an understatement. Between Black Friday, buying holiday gifts, returning the ones I don't want, and partying on New Years, it's been extremely tiring. I need a day to kick back, relax. I'm staying in and inviting some close girlfriends for tea and cookies. I want to be as comfortable as possible without looking schlumpy. Please help! I'll start you off with these Wet Seal Stripe Knee High Socks ($5) because they'll keep my feet cute and warm.
Let's go Fab Finding. Be sure to come back and tell me your Fab Finds are up, or just tag your Fab Finds with kick back relax.
Now, you can build outfits by creating a list of clothing items. We have everything you need to build outfits, and you can use your Fab Find bookmarks, too. This is an even better way to put together an entire outfit when you are completing your Fab Finding missions.
xs sure knows how to pose. Here she is looking topsy turvy and terrific. Her silk jumper is adorable and I love those fingerless gloves. Layering tights with knee-high socks is pure fashion genius.
Among the celebrities who partied in Miami Beach on New Years was Chloe Sevigny. You better believe the risk-taking actress went all out for the occasion. She dressed up head to toe in a look from Louis Vuitton's Spring '09 collection. That included a sheer burgundy blouse, an orange mini skirt with sequins, animal print bangles, an oversized clutch, and strappy platform sandals. If anyone can pull off this runway look it's someone fearless like Chloe. Do you agree?
The next time you and your girls are gathered, add fashion to the mix by bringing along this Fashion Game book: Fashion History of the 20th Century ($35) by Florence Muller. It's a fun little book filled with questions and answers, quizzes, and matching games. Test your, and your friends' knowledge on designers like Marc Jacobs and Zac Posen, and clothing from jeans to heels. If you have friends that think they know more about fashion than you, this is the perfect way to prove them wrong. Or right. Bring it on.
Not only is this Urban Renewal Taffeta Bow Bag ($38) adorable, it's made out of old prom dresses. So cool how Urban Outfitters used recycled taffeta scraps to make it. Way to reuse and recycle! It's perfect for a casual day of shopping, lunching, or running errands. At night, tuck the straps into the bag and you have yourself a clutch.
2009. Wow — this decade is almost over! Crazy. I usually spend January detoxing, catching up on all the award nominated films, and prepping for Fashion Week in February. It's a hard month to get motivated, for sure. Alas, you always want to start the year off right. While I'm also on a shopping freeze, still recovering from the holidays, here are some items that have me fantasizing. A healthy mix of Resort and Winter goodies. Oh, Happy New Year!
Kristin Cavallari went with a black-lace, bra-baring top at The Breeders' Cup Winners Circle Event in LA. She paired it with black skinny pants, and kept things neutral with beige patent pumps and a matching clutch.
