2009. Wow — this decade is almost over! Crazy. I usually spend January detoxing, catching up on all the award nominated films, and prepping for Fashion Week in February. It's a hard month to get motivated, for sure. Alas, you always want to start the year off right. While I'm also on a shopping freeze, still recovering from the holidays, here are some items that have me fantasizing. A healthy mix of Resort and Winter goodies. Oh, Happy New Year!

I've been wanting a fringe piece in my closet to reflect my love of the '20s. I figure a fringe mini skirt, like this Nanette Lepore Carwash Fringe Mini Skirt ($110, originally $220) is good because I can modernize it with cool tees. I know it's on sale, but I don't want to pay over a hundred dollars for it. Good thing I don't have to.
I wanted to start the year off with an epic FABTV. Something dramatic, something emotional. Ozzy is in order. I'm not so into sappy music. When I need a release, I turn to serious rock. This surreal video is a slight ode to Salvador Dali, with the nondescript set, red-lips sofa, and eyeball paintings. Dali is one of my favorite artists. As for the girl who cries herself into oblivion, I dig her metallic silver jacket and turquoise opera gloves. And those guitar riffs — epic.
Rihanna bundled up for her appearance on The Late Show and looked perfectly chic while waving to her New York fans. She kept things simple in all black but mixed patterns and textures to create a unique look.
