I officially declare 2008 as the year of the celebrity designer. Seriously, who didn't try their hand at fashion designing? Some granted rave reviews, others, well, you tell me. From reality stars to actresses to singers, these celebrities all had something to say about style this year. Nicole Richie offered up her affordable line of chic jewels, The Hills girl Whitney Port debuted her designing talent with Eve & A, and even LL Cool J grabbed a piece of the action with his Sears line! That's only the tip of the fashion iceberg, keep on scrolling to see all this year's celebrity designing endeavors.
One thing is certain: Kate Bosworth loves and therefore lives in her Topshop acid-wash jeans and red Chloe buckle boots. It's admirable — despite being photographed constantly, she rewears her favorite pieces. This time around, she wore them while hanging out with her model boyfriend at The Grove in LA. She used a subtle leopard tee and a navy sweater to temper her bold bottom half. Her Ray-Ban aviators and Chloe Saskia bag add further funk to the mix.
Freaky or Fabulous: Lily Allen's Homage to Chanel I can't help but be a little bit worried about Lily Allen. She's been partying all over town this week but last night she wore an unusual ensemble. Lily is having fun with copyright recently not least with her cover of Womanizer, but I'm not sure what her point is here.
Who knew M.I.A. came out with a clothing line? We did. M.I.A. has caught our eye a few times — remember when she was the week's Fab favorite? — and her clothing line, Okley by M.I.A., is ready for judging. The performer definitely has her own funky, urban style. If you're into it, you might like these The Afrika Leggings ($85). They totally remind me of the TV show A Different World and Cross Colours. Any takers?
There's no snow in SF, but that won't stop me from dreaming of a white Christmas. To get in the holiday spirit, I'll be attending a white Christmas ball this weekend. The theme is white, but feel free to use it any way you want. Use your magic wand and turn me into the belle of the ball!
Let's go Fab Finding. Be sure to come back and tell me your Fab Finds are up, or just tag your Fab Finds with white Christmas ball.
Now, you can build outfits by creating a list of clothing items. We have everything you need to build outfits, and you can use your Fab Find bookmarks, too. This is an even better way to put together an entire outfit when you are completing your Fab Finding missions.
This boot hybrid is hard to come across — if you ever find a cool pair I suggest you swoop them up. Wedge boots are definitely a safer boot in harsh weather conditions; they are more grounded and resilient.
If you're Nicole Richie, you have super cool fold-over wedges to help fend off weather goblins. We speculate that hers are Martin Margiela, but they could even be Tara Subkoff for Easy Spirit circa 2006. You think? Either way, while I don't recommend suede in the rain, most of these come in the supple skin. Super clean white scarf and men's fedora optional, but recommended.
Singer and actress Selena Gomez posed for pictures at the 2009 American Music Awards with a pretty pink smile on her face. She took advantage of the occasion and went glam; wearing a Talbot Runhof sequin dress with black strappy heels.
