What a fabulous surprise that Julie Haus (who was showing at New York Fashion Week for the first time) guests included Leighton Meester and Molly Sims and was styled by Elle fashion editor extraordinaire Kate Lanphear. No wonder the collection was a hit. Leighton has been a longtime fan of Haus; her girlie, colorful creations suit the gamine perfectly. When asked how she liked the show, Leighton replied, "I loved it, why? Do you love her like me? I love it so much, it was so cute. She’s usually so feminine and quirky but it was actually very rock-n-roll. It was awesome." I have fantasies of being a celebrity stylist, and if I were to pick some Spring looks for Leighton, here's what I'd choose . . .

This week's Look Book incorporated some of my favorite trends. From wooden heels to doing the denim nip/tuck, I was impressed with all of your styling skills. Here are five fabulous looks to get inspired by.
Oh my gosh, I almost missed Jenni Kayne's Spring '09 presentation — one of my favorites. I totally got lost in the West Village and man, was it hot outside. Alas, I found salvation on Jane Street and on stark white mannequins. While I do think models wear clothes better than mannequins, Kayne continues to impress with her minimal, subtly detailed cool girl clothes. We can cut her some slack — she is expecting a baby Kayne after all.
Favorites were the maxi length skirts (ode to the canary yellow one) and dresses, a gold paillette skirt paired with a blue button down shirt and a stone canvas box blazer and short suit. Simple shapes juxtaposed with bursts of print and color here and there, were quintessential Kane. Her gowns were noteworthy; one stand out was deco-esque with a dramatic drapes on the sides.

Here I am in the midst of New York Fashion Week. My theme song? You know it! Most people need to listen to mellow music in times of chaos; me, I thrive on my favorite hard rock band of all time, Guns n' Roses. When all else fails, I just put on my boys and let the tough times roll. Here, you see Axl straight off the bus from Indiana (where he is actually from) about to embark on a life of sex, drugs, and rock n' roll. And it went down just like that. The original band mates are seen here — Axl, Slash, Duff, Izzy, and Stephen — in their metal hair, leather pant, and bad attitude splendor. Let the good times roll . . .
The BCBG girl has tossed her frills and pouf for fluid, sexy clothes. Nice. Not many designers bring such a mix to the front row — Jamie-Lynn Sigler, Leigh Lazark and Alexandra Richards — and though these personalities are all so different, they will each find a look their own in this Spring collection. From smart day dresses to utilitarian vests and jackets to goddess gowns, the Azria team exhibited a grown up, but still youthful, collection. There were even some tough black numbers for those Gossip Girl fans — namely Taylor Momsen who showed up at Fashion Rocks with Max Azria in tow in an itty bitty BCBG LBD. Max said Taylor was "his new model," maybe that means the IMG model will be his next campaign star? We'll see. In the meantime, feast your eyes on a fanciful palette, from icey neutrals to shots of brights. As well, some Nina Ricci-esque silk pants broke up the slew of adorable dresses. See, something for every girl.

Nicky Hilton was spotted leaving The Ivy restaurant after a day of shopping with sister Paris. Her casual yet stylish outfit, which consisted of skinny jeans, tall black boots and an Alice + Olivia military blazer, was perfect for the occasion.
