Marc Jacobs Spanx a Runway Model? These Fashion Week poetry magnets just arrived in our inbox courtesy of Shopstyle.com, whose press reps messengered them out to editors and fashion houses all over Manhattan. You know you want a set — but unfortunately they’re not for sale. Luckily, VF Daily received a few extra to give away. 0 Comments
In honor of Calvin Klein's 40th anniversary, I would like to spotlight its newly opened website. It's only been a few weeks, but CalvinKlein.com already has a sale section. Wonderful. Let's see what's in store. You can find dresses, trousers, jeans, and tops with Klein's signature minimalistic taste.
I'm loving the airiness of this Calvin Klein Strappy Tank Sweater ($24, originally $48). Once the weather cools down, it will be a great as a layering base. There's nothing too colorful or frilly, so those seeking work-appropriate clothes should take a peek.
There is always a handful of girls who walk down nearly every high profile catwalk at New York Fashion Week. Among the ones for Spring '09 are Australian Catherine McNeil, Russian Olga Sherer, American Karlie Kloss, Polish Anja Rubik, and British Jourdan Dunn. Each has a completely different look, but all are at the top of their game right now. Catherine is laid-back, Olga is supposedly the skinniest right now, Karlie is known for her zombie walk (which Tyra Banks famously made fun of recently), Anja has emerged super tan, and Jourdan is bringing gorgeous color to the runways. Who's your favorite model at Fashion Week?
The Michael Kors Spring '09 runway presentation brought out a slew of celebrity fans, one of them being Gossip Girl Blake Lively. I love how this girl can look as relaxed in dresses as she can in jeans. For the occasion, Blake chose Michael Kors's lattice A-line dress and his double ankle strap sandals. She doesn't usually like to pile on the accessories so she kept it simple with a cocktail ring and a black snakeskin clutch. I'm sure she made Michael proud.
Target hit us with a double whammy announcing two exclusive designer collaborations that launch Oct. 12: the illustrious shoe duo Sigerson Morrison and the highly acclaimed Anya Hindmarch handbags.
Despite being victim to yet another boutique robbery, handbag designer Anya Hindmarch is still going strong. Her collection for Target, ranging from $20 to $50, stays true to her signature style, and incorporates playful textures and colors such as patent finishes and rich colors. Styles include satchels, shoulder bags, and clutches.
The Sigerson Morrison for Target footwear collection, designed by CFDA award winners Kari Sigerson and Miranda Morrison, includes a wide array of studded and textured booties, pumps, and flats made in cool metallics and suede. Prices range from $30 to $40.

The whole Calvin Klein craze started 40 years ago when the designer's best friend Barry Schwartz lent him $10,000 to start a collection of women's coats. He's come a long way since then. In four decades, Klein has created a global empire with sub-brands like Calvin Klein Collection, Calvin Klein Jeans, and Calvin Klein Underwear. Klein practically made Kate Moss a household name by using her for several racy underwear ads, and was responsible for taking Christy Turlington to supermodel status. The list goes on and on. In celebration of the label's 40th birthday, take my fun little quiz about the man whose clothing has been worn by millions of people around the world.
Singer and actress Selena Gomez posed for pictures at the 2009 American Music Awards with a pretty pink smile on her face. She took advantage of the occasion and went glam; wearing a Talbot Runhof sequin dress with black strappy heels.
