Every once in a blue moon we'll see celebrities acting as really good role models for health. Since it doesn't happen all the time, I really enjoy sharing it with you when it does...

A real treat for you today, is seeing Felicity Huffman, participating in The Nautica Malibu Triathlon at Zuma Beach, in Malibu, CA. I am always impressed when anyone completes a triathlon, but even more impressive is that a few hours later Felicity Huffman was dressed to the nines at the 2007 Primetime Emmy Awards -- Now that's inspiring! I am totally motivated by her at this point, especially since a lot of other celebs would have thrown out the idea of doing a triathlon on such an important celebrity celebration day. You go girl!

There's a reason these lovely actresses traveled back in time for their Emmy fashion inspiration: because a gal can never go wrong with some Old Hollywood Glamour. Marcia Cross, Katherine Heigl, Kate Walsh, Heidi Klum, Jaime Pressly and Rebecca Romijn all went the glam route, but they each took very different roads to get there. Marcia, Katherine and Rebecca went simple and chic with neutral hues, while Heidi and Kate went va-va-voom in red. Jamie took the road less traveled with a black swirly sequins. But in the end, all roads led to Hollywood!

Canary diamond, ruby, sapphire, and amethyst all showed up on the red carpet tonight, but not just in jewelry form! These ladies accessorized their ice with bold, jewel-toned gowns: Felicity Huffman and Julie Louis-Dreyfus went with a lovely shade of purple, while Portia, Ellen, and America chose hues of blues. Ali Larter looked fantastic in ruby red and Minnie Driver pulled off canary diamond perfectly. Bold, beautiful jewel tones all around!

Mermaids aren't only found in water (they do exist I swear!), they're also spotted on the Emmy red carpet! These stars all chose the womanly silhouette of dresses with form-fitting bodices and flared bottoms. Katherine's was the most dramatic, while Kyra and Becki kept it fresh with layers of feathers and tulle. Edie's train is a little more incognito, Mary-Louise's is sleek and Debra kept it classic in black and white. These mermaids stood out in the sea of red...carpet!

These ladies kept it classic and sophisticated in their black and white gowns on the Emmys Red Carpet tonight. Although all of these dresses had a similar color scheme, each one is unique. From Debra Messing's Ralph Lauren mermaid gown and Edie Falco's pretty beading to Sandra Oh's minimal black strapless and Christina's magic bump-hiding Valentino, each one was a statement on its own. Bling was everywhere tonight! Helen Mirren and Hayden Panettiere had big sparkly brooches adorning their bustlines. If tassels are your thing, look to the Ellens: DeGeneres had a softer version, and Pompeo sported a more defined pair of tassels. Meanwhile, Portia de Rossi had a sultry jewel-encrusted snake slithering around her neck, and Lisa Rinna accentuated her up-to-there slit with some strategically-placed bling. So if you need a little oomph for an outfit, look to these ladies, and drip yourself with jewels.
