Carrie proved to be the hostess with the mostest at last night's CMA awards. She had so many wardrobe changes, I couldn't squeeze them all in here. But, these are my favorites. Carrie has range; she loves color as much as neutrals, texture equally well as minimalism. She is a glamour girl though, always fond of ruffles, sparkle, and embellishments. At last night's Country Music Awards, Reese Witherspoon opted for the classics. Red lips, red nails, and a lacy black gown. Typically, we don't see Reese steer too far off from a subtle pinkish lip, but last night she busted out this bright crimson hue. So, which look do you prefer best on the much-loved actress? A berry shade, as pictured here from an event for her 2007 film Rendition; a nude pink, from her Penelope premiere earlier this year; or the true red from last night?

Nicole Kidman came out to support her country man Keith Urban last night. She showed off her slim post-baby bod in a fringed black Jil Sander frock. She kept her shoes and clutch simple but dazzled her earlobes with large round diamond earrings. Yet another LBD, does it work for her?
Look at that smile. Reese tore up the CMA red carpet in a black one shouldered lace Marchesa. And, she looks like she's having fun — can't beat that. Red nails and red lips fancy up the look even more. Are you as blown away as I am?
Taylor Swift looks pretty darn stunning at the 2008 CMAs in her shimmering Kaufman Franco gown. The silhouette is so slim and the black piping and sheer inserts add interest. It's a near perfect fit — do you concur?
The red carpet was fun, but the real action happened on stage at last night's CMA Awards. Reese was out to present Brad Paisley the award for Male Vocalist of the Year while Nicole Kidman left Keith's side for a minute to give out a statue alongside her Australia costar Hugh Jackman. Keith didn't take home any statues but he did perform his new single to kick off the show alongside the hosts for the night, Carrie Underwood and Brad Paisley. Kid Rock brought a new edge to the show taking the stage with Lil' Wayne on the guitar. Shania Twain looked simply stunning. Carrie, who showed off many gorgeous gowns, scored Female Vocalist of the Year, but the night's big winner was Kenny Chesney once again — see the full list of winners here. The 42nd CMA Awards kept things fun, youthful and interesting out to perform and celebrate another year in country music together.

Country music stars came out in Nashville last night for the CMAs and to honor each other. Reese Witherspoon looked gorgeous out to present an award during the show, but she wasn't the only actress to grace the stage. Nicole Kidman took the stage too, but her first priority was supporting her performing and nominated husband Keith Urban. Jewel looked breezy in blue while Shania Twain made her first big appearance since splitting with her husband. Carrie Underwood walked the red carpet in yellow, but as hostess of the evening had a few dress changes throughout the night before taking home another CMA. While guys like Kid Rock may have dressed a little more country, it was all glam for the ladies on the red carpet.

Brad Paisley, Sugarland, and Carrie Underwood all picked up awards Wednesday night at the 42nd annual CMA Awards. But it was George Strait whose trophy case really got a lot fuller. With his wins for Single of the Year and Album of the Year, he became the artist with the most trophies in CMA history, with a total of 22.
Meanwhile, Kenny Chesney won his fourth award for Entertainer of the Year. Hosts Paisley and Underwood also took home trophies — Paisley his second for Male Vocalist of the Year and Underwood her third for Female Vocalist of the Year. Paisley also nagged an award for Music Video of the Year, his fourth in the category. Sugarland was another big winner, with both a Vocal Duo of the Year award and a Song of the Year Award for lead singer Jennifer Nettles. To see the full list of winners, just read more
