One thing you must remember to do this season is to adorn; I'm not suggesting draping yourself in loads of jewels, but make a statement.

To many, the color nude immediately conjures up images of granny underwear. It's time to banish those images and welcome nude with open arms. It's already gearing up to be one of the colors of the season, so start incorporating it into your wardrobe. It should be easy because the color is not limited only to tops. It's current on dresses, skirts, footwear, bags, you name it.
If you're still hesitant, buy a nude item that incorporates black in it, like this Marciano Agathe Tank ($88). For a more casual approach, invest in a few nude tees and tanks like Leighton Meester.

I've been looking for the perfect leather jacket all my life. I'm not being dramatic. The search was well worth it after finding this Rick Owens Shearling Bomber Jacket ($2,695).
This jacket is perfection in every way. I love the cozy shearling lining and the simple cut is timeless. The slight asymmetrical zipper is an expert special touch. How about wearing it with a flowy chiffon dress or ankle skimming pants? Be inspired.

Today is the first official day of Fall, and for the next couple weeks we are going to count down our 10 Fall Essentials. So often friends and fams ask us what's new and exciting for the season. I've already worn this skirt with a sexy nude tank top and layered jewelry; I also wore a cardi to add to the mellow vibe. I've always thought of actress and daughter of Jane Birkin Charlotte Gainsbourg as a cool girl, but not as a model. Still, the best friend of Balenciaga designer Nicolas Ghesquiere has been chosen as the newest face of the house's Fall '08 advertisements. This is not the first time Charlotte has taken a stab at modeling, though; she was once the face of French handbag line Gerard Darel. She may not look like most models out there, but her svelte body is perfect for Balenciaga's latest crop of dresses and slick suits. And her robotic posing goes hand-in-hand with the paired-down but bold collection. What is your take on Balenciaga's Fall '08 ads?
