2008 cannes film festival poll

Talk about poor planning. Actresses Kristin Scott Thomas and Natalie Portman both showed up to the 2008 Cannes Film Festival in blue Lanvin dresses. It's bad enough that they're both wearing the same designer to the same premiere, but throw on top of it the fact that they're the same shade of blue. At least there's one difference: Kristin's is long and flowy, while Natalie's is short and fun. Who wins this blue Lanvin battle?

Lanvin is proving to be this year's Cannes Film Festival choice designer, but I have a feeling no one will go as dramatic as veteran model Linda Evangelista did in this gold sequin one shoulder gown. You know I love Linda and can't wait to see her in the Fall Prada ad campaign, but is this stunner too Diana Ross flashy? (No offense, Diana!)

Gwyneth Paltrow turned up to the premiere of Two Lovers at the Cannes Film Festival in a navy blue satin low v-neck Chanel Cruise dress with black piping. It's definitely not my favorite dress of hers, especially after all her smashing Iron Man looks, but it's not disastrous either. I like the combo of black and blue and I see that it's starting to become a trend at Cannes. Oh, and those Roger Vivier buckle pumps? I'll take two!

The Cannes Film Festival fashion fiesta continues with Eva Longoria, who attended the Kung Fu Panda premiere in an elaborate icey Versace couture one-shoulder dress. This lady loves attention and she certainly got it with her overly tulled frock. I like the bodice but it's too much tulle for such a petite girl. Thoughts?
