Portia seems to get the red carpet right very often. I wonder what her secret is. In this case, it's Lanvin. Do you love or hate it? (Hi Ellen!)

Believe it or not, the Oscars red carpet left me wanting more. So, I had to turn to the Elton John AIDS Foundation Oscar Party for more gown glory. Here is Kate Beckinsale in a fierce brown one shoulder Versace — I quite fancy it, you?

Phew! Now that I've had a little time to ruminate over all of the hair and makeup looks from the Oscars, I've come up with a few thoughts. While almost everyone looked gorgeous, I couldn't help but wish that stars would stop playing it safe. For instance, Diablo Cody's pinup-girl style wouldn't work for everybody, but it's so rare to see this kind of retro style that I think her look was the night's most memorable. So overall, what are your thoughts on the night's beauty? (If you haven't seen everyone, here are the pictures).
Woo-hoo! Another fun night of Oscars style has passed, and although we didn't see anything too crazy, there was plenty of pretty to go around. It was difficult to narrow down the most beautiful looks, but these eight stood out. Who do you think had the best hair and makeup at the Oscars this year?

You've told me how you feel about each individual Oscars red carpet look, but now it's time to choose the best dressed lady of the night! These final five you see before you were narrowed down by your votes, and from what I can see, you really liked the ladies in red tonight. Are you ready for the ultimate decision? And now, the nominees for best dressed . . .

Jon Stewart is back tonight with his easy wit and funny political commentary. His opening monologue addressed many of the topics one would expect this year, like the writers strike and how hilarious it is that Norbit was nominated. What did you think of Jon Stewart's opening monologue?
Calista Flockhart's appearances on the red carpets are rather sporadic these days, but when she does show up she usually looks rather elegant. (Do you think she looks a bit like Audrey Hepburn here?) The hair might be crossing the line from touseled into messy, but other than that, I think her makeup is pretty and fresh. What do you think of Calista's look?

Cate is always so stunning. I love here how the emerald embellishments on her dress and earrings make her eyes pop. The rosy color of her lips really opposes the emerald in such a beautiful, complementary way. Her hair is a little casual, and I would have preferred an updo, but I still think she looks fabulous. How about you?

Looks like best supporting actress nominee Saoirse Ronan is channeling Keira's emerald Atonement dress for the Oscars red carpet with her own green Alberta Ferretti number. Does it measure up?

Best Actress nominee Ellen Page is so darn cute. If she was going to wear black I wish it would have been my Marc Jacobs pick instead of this vintage Jean Louis Scherrer. Oh well. What do you think?
