>> INSIDER WIRE —The situation at Ungaro with Esteban Cortazar is still unclear — though they are still expected to part ways and the designer has served the house with a lawsuit, Esteban appeared at the CFDA Awards on Monday, escorting Arlenis Sosa Pena in an Ungaro dress. When questioned about his situation, he replied: “I am still there. We are trying to work things out. We have had some differences but hopefully things will work out for the best, whether I am there or not.” [WWD]

At last night's CFDA Awards, Kerry Washington was the epitome of impeccable style. Check out how her soft watermelon-toned lipstick complements, not competes with, her warmer, orange-toned blush.
That, and she's achieved eyebrow perfection with the perfect balance of shape and color. While her eyes are heavily lined for dramatic effect, she creates a slight smokiness with taupe and shimmery pink shadows. Like this look? Check out my how-to when you read more
The winners have been announced, the Fab faves have been judged. But what the CFDA awards really comes down to is the designers. Last night an eclectic mix of designers gathered — many with models and starlets standing by — at Lincoln Center in NYC. Familiar faces shined, and really, everyone seemed to enjoy themselves. Here's our tribute to those designers who won and those who continue to win our fashion hearts, award or not.WireImage
OK, pencils down, now who's got the right answer? In this case, it's thick black eyeliner. Each of these women used heavy hands for their black eyes at the CFDA Awards. There's a blurry difference between heavily lined and smoked up, so let's discuss.
Kirsten Dunst has the most outlined look as her stroke — even the bottom! — traces the entire eye on the lash line. Ashley Olsen, on the other hand, has equally thick lines, but she blurs the edges into a cat-eye shape for a sultry rock look. Lastly, Heidi Klum falls somewhere in the middle with slight smudges on the bottom, but more definition up top. Whose look do you like best . . . or do you think it all got out of hand?
>> INSIDER WIRE —Marc Jacobs traded his skirt in for pants last night at the CFDA Awards, while Alexander Wang — who says he started wearing shorts a month ago and hasn't switched back to pants — debuted his "suit shorts" from Comme des Garcons: "I always feel awkward in a full get-up. You’ve got to break it up a little.” He may break with tradition, but it sounds like the Swarovski Womenswear winner is being groomed for big things — he was discussed yesterday at the Financial Times Business of Luxury Summit as a good investment opportunity, and rumors are circulating that for his Spring 2010 show, his usual stylist Alastair McKimm has been replaced with "a certain godhead of a stylist" who "deemed" to take the gig.
