Another MTV Video Music Awards red carpet has come and gone. You know what that means, right? It's time to vote on the best dressed of the night! This year's contenders are the following: Olivia Palermo in her shoulder-cutout Susan Woo LBD, Kristin Cavallari in a strapless sequined minidress, Beyonce in a sassy LRD, Whitney Port in a sheer Christopher Kane, and Leighton Meester in her sequin Christian Cota. All five ladies turned up the volume but only one can take the crown; who's it going to be?


Queen Madge isn't one to be off trend, and tonight was no exception. I love her pulled-back pouf — it reminds me of Catherine Deneuve's hair in The Umbrellas of Cherbourg. Unlike a lot of red carpet denizens, though, she kept her eyes sexy, with a classic Cleopatra line past the outer edges. Her peachy pink lip color was also the perfect shade for rosy, pale girls who have a hard time with the nude lip trend.

Come to think of it, we haven't seen a whole lot of updos this evening, so this slicked-back 'do on Nelly Furtado is rather refreshing. Ever since her breakthrough song "I'm Like a Bird" came out in 2000, I've had my eye on the exotic-looking singer. Perhaps you might recall her
