Of the young Hollywood crowd, I've always thought of Leighton Meester as one of the more sophisticated of the bunch. So it's not the best photo of Beyoncé (she sort of looks like a wax figure — have you played our game?), but we're not talking about her deer-in-headlights stare, we're talking about her beauty choices. She wore her hair long and curly with noticeable regrowth (is it a trend?) next to super-huge hoop earrings. Her voluminous hair really took center stage, while her makeup was noticeably soft: dewy skin, arched brows, pink lips — nothing shocking there. What do you all think? Back in July, we saw Cassie with etches on the shaved side of this disconnected haircut, but tonight she's keeping that side soft and smooth, letting the longer part stand out with a little curl and some rolled texture. While it might seem like she doesn't have a whole lot of options with this distinctive cut, as evidenced by tonight's look, she most certainly does. Someone give kudos to Cassie's stylist for creating two looks in one. As for the makeup, it's all about the smoky eye and pink glossed lips. The divine Ms. Lopez took a night off from caring for twin bebehs Max and Emme to shine her divalicious light on the VMAs. And I do mean shine — she was glowing all the way down the red carpet. Her look was minimalist, but still sexy: a bare face with lots of luminizer for that heavenly glow, and slick hair that made her skin and amazing eyelashes stand out even more.
