A red carpet without jewelry is like a candy store without, well, candy. Large earrings may be making their mark in the fashion world, but that doesn't mean statement necklaces are over. No, no. In fact, a handful of ladies strutted the red carpet in necklaces that beautifully complemented their gowns and elevated their looks. Amy Adams (in Fred Leighton), Taraji Henson, and Amanda Seyfried's necklaces had the most wow of the night, but Penelope Cruz and Marion Cotillard also decked their necks out.
Oscars Trend Alert: All Tied Up in Bows and Knots
Bows and ties and knots, oh my! On this year's Oscars red carpet, Amanda Seyfried, Tilda Swinton, Heidi Klum, Freida Pinto, and Jessica Biel were well-fastened with bold, over-sized bows and subtle, delicate knots. Seyfried's festive red Valentino gown won't secure her a gold statuette, but it's certainly given "It's a wrap!" a whole new meaning. Take a bow . . .

Which Oscars Attendee Looks Most Ravishing in Red?
While most Hollywood stars played it neutral tonight at the Oscars, some dared to strut their stuff in ravishing red. Amy Adams opted to wear an elegant Carolina Herrera gown with black piping; Heidi va-va-voomed in Roland Mouret; and Amanda Seyfried went for subtle sophistication in a Valentino dress. Each lady looked striking in her own right, but which one was your fave?

Oscars Red Carpet Trend: Beautiful and Belted
Belts can complete a gown on the red carpet. We spied quite a few of these finishing touches on the Oscars red carpet. Some belts blended in while others stood out. SJP's provided a smart detail over the intricate beading of her Dior couture gown. Ultimately, a belt helps emphasize one's womanly waist. What's not to love?
Oscars Red Carpet Trend: Fab Fishtails
Considering fishtail skirts are a big part of bridal fashion, it makes sense that they were also popular at the Oscars. What's the connection? Well, the Oscars is the biggest, fanciest award show of the season, hence, it calls for drama, drama, and more drama. Beyonce, Melissa George, Freida Pinto, Vanessa Hudgens, and Taraji Henson all wore dresses with fishtails tonight. Some were more voluminous than others, but they all brought elegance to the carpet. The most eye-catching fishtail? Melissa George's bright white Dolce & Gabbana.
