Best and Worst Fashion of People's Choice Awards The People's Choice Awards are a casual, fun event where celebs can really let loose with their style, if they so choose. However, this year was relatively tame in terms of fashion. No worries though, there are a few stars who wowed us on the red carpet in 2009.Comments
At last night's People's Choice Awards Queen Latifah was a fabulous hostess. And, of course, no queen would be complete without a regal purple silk chiffon gown with multidimensional sparkles. As for her makeup? The majority of you loved it. Her look was a hit, and now I've got the details on how to be luminous like Latifah.
Seeing that the star is the spokesperson for CoverGirl, it's no surprise that celebrity makeup artist Sam Fine created her classic look with products from this iconic drugstore line. To see color selections and techniques straight from Fine himself, check out the how-to below:
- Eyes: Fine applied an eggplant shade (which is easier to wear than lilac since it's closer to brown/mahogany tones) on the crease and underneath the lower lash line using Eye Enhancers Quad Eye Shadow in Ice Princess ($4.99). He also used an opalescent beige shadow on the eyelid to open up the eye. Next, he lined the top lash line for definition, applied false lashes, and some Volume Exact Mascara in Very Black ($7.29). "Mascara helps to fuse Queen's lashes to the fake lashes," he said. Great tip.

Christian Bale and Aaron Eckhart proudly showed off their trophies after The Dark Knight took home five out of five People's Choice Awards last night, including Best Movie of the Year. The film will be up for more honors tonight at the Critics' Choice Awards and again on Sunday at the Golden Globes. We'll have to wait a few more weeks to hear about Oscar nods, but tell us — do you think The Dark Knight will sweep the awards it's nominated for?
Last night at the People's Choice Awards the fans picked Adam, Reese, Robin, Carrie, Ellen, The Dark Knight and more. The stars thanked the fans since if it wasn't for them, well, they wouldn't have that heavy award. Ellen thanked her roommate Portia, and Reese was thrilled with how her year was starting. Dakota Fanning continues to glow as she grows so perfectly. Kate Hudson was late but she made it in time to pick up her Favorite Leading Lady Award and in her quirky speech she thanked birthday boy Ryder. Unfortunately big winners like Brad and Angelina skipped the show and somehow Two and a Half Men still wins stuff. The big winner of the night was The Dark Knight with 5 out of 5 including favorite action movie, cast and movie! Christian Bale kept the facial hair growing but his acceptance speech was short and sweet with his costar Heath top of mind. Click here to see a complete list of last night's winners.
It was all about the ladies on the red carpet at last night's People's Choice Awards in LA. Queen Latifah sparkled in purple as the host of the show, yet again, while Debra Messing kept it a little more geometric. Paris Hilton was a nominee this time around for her first presidential video, though she lost in the online sensation category to Dr. Horrible's Sing-A-Long Blog. Dakota Fanning stood out in her blue one shoulder dress, once again looking perfectly pretty and age appropriate among her older counterparts. She is quite the little lady these days. Some of the bigger names skipped the red carpet and still graced the stage to accept awards, more on that in a bit. Until then, check out the winners here and be sure to vote on all of Fab and Bella's love it or hate it polls to kick off the 2009 award season.
Jordin Sparks was not only one of the best dressed at the 35th Annual People's Choice Awards, but certainly one of the most frugal too. Her stunning Jessica McClintock dress retails for just $180. That's a steal for an awards show gown. Shop it, and all of her gold accessories, now.
90210 star Jessica Stroup was one of the more adventurous ladies on the red carpet at the People's Choice Awards. It was all thanks to her avant-garde dress from Herve Leger. Whether you love it or hate it, you've got to respect her for trying something new. Shop her dress and similar accessories now.
The Dark Knight's crazy box office success translated into a whole bundle of People's Choice Awards on Wednesday night. The film took home the trophies for Favorite Movie, Favorite Action Movie, and Favorite Cast, and Christian Bale also won Favorite Superhero and part of the Favorite On-Screen Matchup award (shared with the late Heath Ledger).
Carrie Underwood was another big winner of the night, taking home three awards — including the Favorite Star Under 35 trophy. She also won the awards for Favorite Female Singer and Favorite Country Song.
Jennie Garth struck a polished pose in her black sheath dress on the red carpet at the People's Choice Award. Black can be an easy option for award shows, but Jennie's dress stands apart from the rest with its pleated detailing around the neck. She accessorized with more black but added a hint of a silver sparkle on her feet. Shop a similar look now.
Marisa Tomei dazzled in red as she made her way down a very similarly colored carpet at the People's Choice Awards. It's a simple silhouette made more interesting with the fabric detailing at the waist (much like the Mason by Michelle Mason dress). On her feet she wore tan Christian Louboutin pumps and accented the look with a bevy of beautiful jewels.
