2008 spawned a tremendous flurry of fabulous Fashion Week shows.

2008 spawned a tremendous flurry of fabulous Fashion Week shows. Let's see, there were New York Fall and Spring shows, Milan Fashion Week, Paris Fashion Week, London Fashion Week, and LA Fashion Week. Oh, and don't forget all of the ravishing Resort and Pre-Fall collections. Some of my faves were Proenza Schouler's Fall line, Alexander Wang's Spring offerings, and Balmain's Spring collection in Paris. All different, all divine. Which were your favorites? Jog your memory, and check out all of our 2008 Fashion Week coverage.

Milan Fashion Week, Spring 2009: Versace

While some criticized Frida Giannini's Gucci collection for being overly commercial, and lacking innovation, Versace managed to deliver both wearable and wowable Spring designs.

While some criticized Frida Giannini's Gucci collection for being overly commercial, and lacking innovation, Versace managed to deliver both wearable and wowable Spring designs. Short, belted dresses are simply adorable, while powerful folds and curvature proved to work for the drama-loving vixen as well. Her palate was subdued — white, powder blue, camel, yellow, black and a gorgeous steel purple. There were plenty of goddess gowns in the mix, but Donatella also poked fun with a 3-D heart motif. The real stunner was a hand drawn and painted colorful collage print by Julie Verhoeven; Donatella likes to dip into the art world for inspiration, too. The youthful and the eternally elegant will appreciate Versace's Spring offerings.

Milan Fashion Week, Spring 2009: Steamy Milan

If London is know for its quirk then Milan is known for its steam.
Milan Fashion Week, Spring 2009: Steamy Milan

If London is know for its quirk then Milan is known for its steam. While some designers also specialize in tailoring (Armani, Dolce & Gabbana) and eclecticism (Marni, Prada), sex appeal oozes off almost every Milan runway. Let's just say it's in the Italian blood; even when they aren't trying to be sexy, they produce some titillating looks. Whether you're an overtly sexy lady or purely experimental, Milan is your fashion capital.

D&G Celebrate the Golden Age With J Lo, Matthew, and More

The famous foursome of Jennifer Lopez, Marc Anthony, Matthew McConaughey, and Camila Alves were together again last night at the Dolce & Gabbana Golden Age party in Milan.

The famous foursome of Jennifer Lopez, Marc Anthony, Matthew McConaughey, and Camila Alves were together again last night at the Dolce & Gabbana Golden Age party in Milan. The bash celebrated Domenico Dolce's 50th anniversary, and what better way than with a decadent soiree including all their A-List friends — the Lopez-Anthonys even arrived in a horse-drawn carriage. Elsewhere in the Fashion Week fun, Mischa Barton and Rihanna smiled on the red carpet at the Fab Five Vanity Fair Party. Rachel Zoe managed to hit up both events. but I'm guessing Sacha Baron Cohen's invitations got lost in the mail.

Dolce and Gabbana

Milan Fashion Week, Spring 2009: Dolce & Gabbana

Whatever the Dolce & Gabbana boys are doing, they should keep on doing, because they're setting the runways on fire.

Whatever the Dolce & Gabbana boys are doing, they should keep on doing, because they're setting the runways on fire. Maybe it's the dramatic clothes against the sleek black background, but the house's Spring collection commands attention. It's part sexy, part girlie, some forward, and all innovative. There's a lot going on, so bear with me. The first thing is the incorporation of silk pajamas in a streamlined way. Hugh Hefner would be proud! Silk pajama tops are tucked into tiny black shorts, big poufy floral skirts, and matching silk cropped trousers. Domenico and Stefano want us to change the way we look at sleepwear. On the sexy end of the spectrum, there are corset cropped tops, bustier-style skirt suits, and leg revealing shorts. For the fashion-forward, there's shoulder love; protruding shoulders are everywhere on dresses and cropped jackets. And as a grand finale, the designers sent down breathtaking gowns with rosettes cascading down from the bodice. These boys know what women want.

Meanwhile, Jennifer Lopez and Matthew McConaughey had their second reunion in two weeks since they completed the triathlon together. They looked pretty and polished with Camila and Marc by their sides before the D&G show this morning. Fab's got a peek at what went down the runway, so check out the pretty clothes after looking at the front row attendees.
