It's going to be the most talked about event: Swarovski and Gilt Groupe have joined fashion forces to host the sale of the CFDA Swarovski Award collection. The sale hits Gilt tomorrow at noon EST and will carry one-of-a-kind Swarovski-encrusted creations by contenders — such as Joseph Altuzarra, Alexander Wang, and Jason Wu — for the Swarovski Awards. "To inspire the design process, each nominee was provided with an all access pass to the Swarovski Creative Service Center," said Nadja Swarovski of Swarovski. "But at the end of the day it was all about the work of the designer — we are just the sparkling ingredient to enhance and push the boundaries of their creativity." That said, we can't stop ogling Wang's pimped-out Rocco duffel bag. Check out the rest of the designs.

Next Monday, this year's CFDA winners will be announced. Our votes are in, the heat is on. The journal to accompany this year's awards is the most evolved yet. Each nominee and honoree was snapped by lens star Sølve Sundsbø and styled by Lori Goldstein with the creative direction of Trey Laird, of Laird + Partners. "We liked the idea of pairing the designers with a reflection of their work and someone who represents their aesthetics," Laird explained. Alexander Wang opted to be photographed with six of his high school friends. Donna Karan was shot solo — Donna pure. As for Marc Jacobs, who missed out due to a scheduling conflict, his image was inspired by street casting for his Fall show: fur-clad models and black and white Marc faces make up an MJ menagerie. I rocked my votes and now the 2010 CFDA Fashion Award nominees are in. We have to wait until June 7 to learn the results, but without further ado, here they are: Donna Karan, Alexander Wang, and Marc Jacobs for Womenswear Designer of the Year. In the Menswear Designer of the Year category are Tom Ford, Michael Bastian, and David Neville and Marcus Wainwright of Rag & Bone. Fab favorite Alexis Bittar will be competing against Marc Jacobs and Proenza Schouler’s Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez for Accessory Designer of the Year.
