Fab Ad: Gucci, Cruise '10

Let's take a mini escape from Fall and focus on resort.

Let's take a mini escape from Fall and focus on resort. For their Cruise '10 collection, Gucci ditched most of its Fall '09 models but kept Natasha Poly and added Snejana Onopka. The campaign was shot in Barcelona by Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott — Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin previously shot Gucci campaigns. Snejana, Natasha, and male model Ryan Kennedy have a sun-filled time while we sit back and gaze in envy. The vacationing trio should be having a blast, but rather, they look quite disconnected from one another. Why so serious? Well, at least they look spotless. What do you think?

Behind the Seams: Zimmermann Resort Presentation

I got a little treat trip to NYC this week and you know what that means — take full advantage of the fashion fetes. I attended Australian swim and RTW brand Zimmermann's Resort collection on the roof of the Empire Hotel and it was nothing short of fabulous. Put me next to crazy-fun exotic clothes overlooking the skyline and I'm stoked. I chatted with the sister design duo, Nicky and Simone — Fab cameo! — and was left with a visit to Syndey at the top of my travel queue. And I am convinced Australians do beach better. Just look at the foxy silhouettes and vivid prints. A garden-print bustier top is on my Zimmermann wish list . . . check out the fun!

Cruise '10 Trend: Clean, Lean Trousers

2010 Cruise Trend: Trousers

With Cruise '10 in full effect, let's stop and evaluate the latest. Frocks and skirts dominated, but what really caught my eye were clean, lean trousers — quite the opposite of crazy harem pants. Instead, trousers ranged from cropped and loose-fitting to tight and body-con. All polished, all pretty. Each style had its own appeal; I can see myself rockin' these silky Roksanda Ilincic trousers to a rooftop party and these Rebecca Taylor pants for a lazy bike ride. Look Book Love: Lerario Beatriz Resort '10

I first spotlighted Brazilian designer Lerario Beatriz in 2007, but she's grown immensely since starting her company in 2005. Seeing as how we're in the middle of chic cruise season, it's fitting for me to bring you her Cruise '10 look book. It's romantic and gorgeously simple, with interesting details. Unlike some resort lines, you won't find lots of colors here, but you will find cuts that are undoubtedly fashion-forward. You can tell Beatriz is serious about her fashion and fashion is serious about her.

Next up, we have a mishmash of ensembles ranging from crisp to ethereal by Gucci, Michael Kors, Giorgio Armani, Anna Sui, Christian Dior, Derek Lam, and Narciso Rodriguez — phew!
