The theme to Nicole Miller's resort collection was somewhat of a cross between safari and military, mixed in with a few sexy LBDs and pretty prints.

Drawstring cargo pants, body-hugging dresses, drapey, printed frocks, denim jumpers, structured jackets and unique constructions made for a fresh, wearable collection perfect for the warmer seasons and summer vacations.

Fab Ad: Gucci, Cruise '10

Let's take a mini escape from Fall and focus on resort.

Let's take a mini escape from Fall and focus on resort. For their Cruise '10 collection, Gucci ditched most of its Fall '09 models but kept Natasha Poly and added Snejana Onopka. The campaign was shot in Barcelona by Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott — Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin previously shot Gucci campaigns. Snejana, Natasha, and male model Ryan Kennedy have a sun-filled time while we sit back and gaze in envy. The vacationing trio should be having a blast, but rather, they look quite disconnected from one another. Why so serious? Well, at least they look spotless. What do you think?

The Vionnet Resort 2010 collection was the breakout offering from creative director Rodolfo Paglialunga.

The Vionnet Resort 2010 collection was the breakout offering from creative director Rodolfo Paglialunga. A modern take on Vionnet's way with draping the collection features hit after hit--each look is rich with color and sensationally draped. Paglialunga hails from Prada, where he was Miuccia Prada's assistant for thirteen years. We're looking forward to seeing his offering for Spring 2010, which will be revealed during Paris Fashion Week in late September.

Emilio Pucci Resort 2010

Peter Dundas' Fall collection for Pucci, his first as the house's creative director, got flack for its uncanny similarities to Balmain's Spring '09 collection.

Peter Dundas' Fall collection for Pucci, his first as the house's creative director, got flack for its uncanny similarities to Balmain's Spring '09 collection. But the criticism didn't seem to bring him down because his resort line, inspired by the sea, remains energetic. "The Pucci girl represents joy, energy (and) fun," Dundas recently said. If you look closely, you'll see Pucci's signature Palio print, but it's not as obvious as when Matthew Williamson was head.

Quote Of The Day: Sidney Toledano, CEO of Christian Dior Couture, Weighs In On Resort

“And in terms of the ‘pre-coll’ what is interesting is the timing,” says Mr. Toledano.
“And in terms of the ‘pre-coll’ what is interesting is the timing,” says Mr. Toledano. “It allows us to sell Resort at the end of May, then it is delivered October/November — a long period when sales are strong, and the stores want new things. I think the current system, when the spring runway collection is shown in October, is very late — when three quarters of the buying has already been done.”
