Stars are always out looking their very swankiest during Paris Haute Couture Week, when designers like John Galliano and Karl Lagerfeld unveil their dreamiest, most artistic pieces. With tons of parties, glamorous people from all over the world, and high fashion folk to impress, it's easy to see why people are at their best during these events, and also why we can learn from their party-proofing makeup and hair tricks. I've gathered five of the smartest celebrity style ideas from the haute couture front rows. They may not be as wild as what's on the runway, but they're plenty useful for a girls' night out.
The name of the game at Armani Privé? Extreme femininity — in the most futuristic way possible. The 2011 Spring Couture collection in its entirety stuns in jewel tones and sculptural silhouettes, but it's the details that deserve our full attention. Pay close attention to the white, triangle toppers, the small metallic berets that pair with every ensemble, and the netted masks that mimic the silvery scales of strapless column dresses. But, even in its modernity and circus-bright aesthetic, Armani never loses sight of a woman's curves. Dresses are body-hugging, bust-lines are low, and jewels are worn as tops. Slinky, sparkly textures and bold hues take over on everything — it's quirky-chic and exotic new-age at its best. Click through to see all the amazing details.
Two of our favorite celebs — each with her own serious sartorial sense — joined their stylish peers for Gucci's dinner at the Italian embassy in Paris, as a part of the fashionable festivities happening for Couture Fashion Week. Jessica Alba rocked a sparkling one-shoulder in an icy palette, while Diane Kruger, true to form, went for a couture showpiece. Her gold and black tiered confection reminds us that even at a dinner party, Kruger is all about taking it to the next level with an edgier fashion statement. Alba, too, is pretty true to her sensibility, opting to go glam, but not over-the-top. Now, it's time to weigh in — whose look is most Fab?
The cuts are immaculate, the colors are soft, and the result is a collection that's simultaneously ethereal and completely modern. Karl Lagerfeld's 2011 Spring/Summer looks balance light-as-air confections with the structure of jackets, tailored trousers, and the label's signature tweed. Among the standouts are silvery, metallic suits in sheer fabrics; a delicate, floral, and bow-adorned baby-doll dress over pants; and pointy-toe flats paired with everything from skinny pants to a halter-style maxi dress. The feel is deliciously girlie — ballerina-inspired, but still grown up; a balancing act that Karl delivers flawlessly, as you'd expect. Click through for all the gorgeous looks.
We're looking back at the biggest headlines of 2010, and we'll be revealing more throughout the month of December. Here's one of the stories that created the most buzz over the past 12 months and don't miss the rest of our Best of 2010 coverage across the network!
Gisele Bundchen welcomed Benjamin Brady in Dec. 2009, and it didn't take long for her to pick up right where she left off with her booming career. She debuted her post-baby bikini body on the cover of Vogue in April of this year, sharing a sweet photo of her son inside the magazine. Just a few weeks later, Gisele was back to promoting products around the world and posing in her skimpy two-piece for her skin care line and an Italian swimwear brand.
In June, she made her big return to the runway for Colcci's fashion show in her native Brazil, and before the Summer was over, Gisele graced the pages of Harper's Bazaar UK. She joined model mom-to-be Miranda Kerr on the Balenciaga catwalk during Paris Fashion Week in September, and celebrated 15 years in the industry with a sexy Vogue Brazil spread in October.
Gisele not only made her modeling comeback in a huge way, but she also took time to enjoy her adorable family. She traveled to Brazil and Paris with Tom and Ben, sharing fun park dates and beach days. She also managed to sneak in some hot couple time with husband Tom Brady throughout the year.

There was a '70s redux on the Spring 2011 runways, to say the least, and we spotted the look off the runway, too. Between Paris Fashion Week shows, we admired this leggy cutie's way with layering and pairing shades of green. Her throwback jeans and leather jacket emanate that '70s feel, while classic black heeled boots and polished Celine tote add an equestrian touch. Get her look with similar items from MiH jeans, Chloe, Marc by Marc Jacobs, and Diane von Furstenberg.
