2011 Fall Paris Fashion Week: Chloé
It's safe to say Hannah MacGibbon kicked rumors — that her contract is up after this season — to the curb after showing an ultra-chic '70s-inspired collection for Chloé today in Paris. Staying true to her signature throwback aesthetic, the designer upped the ante for Fall with a heavy helping of python prints made into diaphanous silk dresses, maxi dresses, wispy blouses, skirts — some even dyed a vibrant jade hue — and more structured pieces via sheath dresses and trench coats. For those who aren't privy to all of the hissing, MacGibbon broke up the reptilian theme with a colorful collage of colorblocked ponchos and skirts along with denim skirts and wide-leg leather trousers injecting a vibrant touch to the collection. And if you're looking for the ultimate statement piece, check out those cool leather dungarees.
- Trends: '70s, reptilian prints, colorblocking.
- Colors: Ecru, brown, jade, mustard yellow.
- Key Looks: Silk python print dress, colorblock poncho.
- Accessories: Oversized hobo bags, platform boots.
- Who Would Wear It: Women looking for chic pieces with a twist.
Fashion Week Makeup Gives Model Lindsey Wixson an Allergic Reaction

I feel terrible for Lindsey, and her misfortune is a good reminder that makeup can cause serious allergic reactions, not just run-of-the-mill breakouts. Clearly, with FW's hectic schedule, there was likely little time for Lindsey to test all this stuff on herself, but for those of us with a little more free time, performing a patch test before you put new cosmetics on is always a good idea.
Vibrant Prepster

>> Paris Fashion Week street style took a colorful turn over the weekend, adding a vibrant pop to the neutral hues we saw last week. This unorthodox take on a preppy look features pink shorts, orange platform sandals, and a yellow bag tempered by a classic white button-up and black ribbed sweater. We love perfectly clashed colors, and if you do too, shop our similar picks from J.Crew, Gap, Lou, and Kate Spade.
Left to right: Lou Crewneck Sweater ($325), J.Crew Pink Shorts ($43), Gap Perfect Shirt ($50), Max Studio Tortoise Sunglasses ($90), Kenneth Cole New York Green Bangle ($30), Seychelles Gypsy Sandal ($55, originally $95), Kate Spade Essex Scout Bag ($295), Deborah Lippmann Nail Polish ($16)

2011 Fall Paris Fashion Week: John Galliano
The spectacle that typically defines a Galliano show was replaced by a smaller, more humble presentation, but the collection itself couldn't help but convey all the sexy, romantic opulence that its former designer is known for. There was something iniquitous about these ladylike girls in their tailored jackets and skirts. A closer look at their elegant silhouettes and you realize they like to break the rules: latex made its way under peplum jackets, gorilla fur adorned skirts, dresses were dangerously sheer, and the heels had chains that looked a bit like handcuffs. The whole show had a glamorous '30s vibe, a time when women were asserting their own power. In typical Galliano fashion, it tested boundaries without sacrificing beauty.
- Trends: Draping, fur, ladylike polish, sheerness, '30s, opulence.
- Colors: Purple, gray, black, orange, cream.
- Key Looks: Fitted peplum jackets, draped skirts.
- Accessories: Feather and fur hats, strappy heels with chain straps.
- Who Would Wear It: Elegant ladies on the outside, bad girls on the inside.
Nicole and Kate Hit Paris Fashion Week With Same-Dressed Liv and Kanye
Nicole Richie continued her stylish tour of Paris on Saturday by admiring the silver and gold hair at the Jean Paul Gaultier show during Fall Fashion Week alongside Kanye West. The duo were equally dressed up yesterday as well, when she threw on a leather dress to see what Riccardo Tisci had designed for Givenchy. Kanye stepped out for the second show in a monkey-print tee that was also sported by Liv Tyler — who do you think wore it better? Kate Moss, meanwhile, headed to the city just in time to hit the Givenchy afterparty, which she was spotted leaving looking slightly worse for the wear. She was in top form, however, for a new video for Longchamp. Make sure to check out all of our coverage from the front rows as things wrap up in the coming days!
