There's a big neutral story happening for Spring, and if its most recent ad campaign is any indication, H&M will have you covered when it comes to neutralizing on a budget. It has brought on the dark-featured, totally sexy photographer-cum-model Elisa Sednaoui to bring a little sultriness to the mostly monochromatic campaign, shot by Asa Tallgard, that includes tailored separates for day and night. Julianne Moore is the face of Talbots, a brand that until now, we always associated as a favorite of great-aunt Mabel. Yet here is the new ad campaign, shot by Mert and Marcus, featuring Julianne Moore looking fresh, pretty, and, dare we say, totally chic in Talbots's Spring collection. The campaign inspired us to take a closer look at Talbots, and flipping through the Spring lookbook we are thrilled with our finds: a full denim skirt, bohemian jewelry, a snake-print shoe with a lucite heel among them. Icy blue backgrounds, transparent clothing, ethereal model with arms outstretched . . . did Alexander Wang and Elie Saab meet for coffee before shooting their respective ad campaigns? These ads share similar elements, yet they manage to project very different attitudes to represent their polar opposite brands. Wang's Aymeline Valade projects fierceness while Erin Wasson (who is friends with Wang) exudes femininity for Saab. What do you think is the most important factor in their difference?
Prada Spring 2011 was one of the most dynamic collections of the season, so we were quite excited to see how the brand would showcase the collection. The vivid stripes and prints are on full display in the print ad photographed by Steven Meisel, but they come alive in the video, which features models like Arizona Muse and Mariacarla Boscono getting their groove on to "Mirando" by Ratatat. Talk about eye candy. Armani's latest face Megan Fox stripped down to her Emporio Armani Underwear and Rafael Nadal works Armani Jeans in a series of black and white ads for Spring. The Armani brand's latest ad campaigns, shot by Mert and Marcus, are due to launch next month, according to WWD. While we love us some lingerie, we seriously can't stop looking at Rafa's, er, jeans. Katie Holmes follows up her sultry Elle spread with an equally sultry, albeit more covered-up, Spring ad campaign for Ann Taylor. It's not the first time the 32-year-old actress has fronted an ad campaign; she's also been photographed for Miu Miu's Spring 2009 ad campaign and for J. Crew. Another Gossip Girl scores an ad campaign. Leighton Meester follows in Blake's footsteps with a quirky Missoni campaign shot by Juergen Teller that also includes Missoni family members and friends. As fans of Missoni muse Margherita Missoni, we can't help but notice the striking resemblance between Leighton and Margherita, who makes regular appearances in Missoni ads.
