New York Fashion Week begins in a few days, but already we're getting sneak peeks at designer collections via illustrations. Today we received this beautiful sketch and note:
"Fall 2011 is inspired by dreamy illusive paintings, blurred images and sparkling lights, conjuring images of dimly lit nights in the chic Parisian night clubs of the 70's. Dresses in luscious prints revealed beneath rich, smokey colored shearlings, found beading and lace patched over delicate printed dresses, lace appliqués on silk tees under shimmering lurex sweaters, cocooning from the cold and ready to set forth on adventures in the city."
OK Fab readers, here's a test of your fashion prowess. Do you know which designer will be presenting this outfit at Fashion Week?
The '70s Beat Goes on Into Pre-Fall
Good news for you '70s fans: the flowy dresses, flare-leg pants, and big hats that dominated Spring runways are still relevant in Pre-Fall. That groovy era of boho hippies and Carly Simon songs (time to cue You're So Vain) lives on. We've put together a slideshow of the top five ways designers continue to channel the '70s in their Pre-Fall collections.
Inspired Style: Jennifer Lopez's Luxe Leopard and Camel
Jennifer Lopez never shies away from going glam. So, it's no surprise to see her stealing the show behind the judges' table on American Idol. It's a look that nails the on-trend — and one of our favorite color duos! — without trying too hard. Just pair a fitted camel shift with a pair of fabulous, leopard-print heels ($395), like Lopez's Brian Atwood booties. Surprisingly low-maintenance, right? Now add a little sparkle with a cocktail ring, or two, and a pair of jeweled chandelier earrings ($180) for a polished look that doesn't take a lot to pull off.
The Top Trends From Pre-Fall 2011
The pre-Fall collections have been steadily growing in importance, and we love them because they're a sneak peek at what the designers are planning for their big Fall collections. Will we see more trends like the '70s, ladylike themes, or minimalism? What are the new colors going to be? Click on for an insider look at the best of pre-Fall 2011.

Holiday Style Retreat: Miami Chic
This week, I'm bidding San Fran farewell till after the New Year, and heading to Miami to soak up the sun and ring in the holiday on the beach. While I confess I'll probably spend most of the trip lounging by the shore or at the pool, there's more to pack than swimwear ($180). I'm adding something festive for my holiday parties, my Matt Bernson gladiators ($102, originally $169), and my favorite new bag. Take a peek at what I'm packing and shop for your own stylish vacay.

Bundle Up in These Four Stylish Scarves For Fall

We spotted this scarf-centric ensemble at Milan Fashion Week and couldn't wait until the weather got chilly enough to try it out ourselves — love the way the sweet pastel hues contrast with the edgier army green jacket. We're all about utilizing scarves for a little outfit color — and texture — contrast; peep our top scarf picks — ranging from a vivacious Yves Saint Laurent leopard print version to a textural olive green fringed version from Topshop — to emulate the same look now!

Celeb Style: Rachel Bilson
Rachel Bilson made a signature style move at the Roberto Cavalli show, mixing feminine flair with on-trend cool. Stepping out in an abstract print red and black dress ($295), she added a dose of menswear via a black blazer and laced up in a pair of utility-style booties. A ladylike tote ($80) by Roberto Cavalli completed her Fab fashion vibe. Click the items above to shop a similar style.

Look of the Day: Full Swing
Frillsandruffles must be paying attention to the Fall forecast, because she's perfectly on-trend in her full swing skirt. Her pretty printed top, bow belt, and pumps further the femme feel for a modern, ladylike redux.

Spring 2011 New York Fashion Week: ADAM
Adam Lippes's ADAM collection delivers girlie cool the way we want to wear it all Spring. Tailored high-waist trousers mingling with lacy, bouncy blouses; peasant-style dresses get sexy back cutouts; embellished sheaths; and a pop of red leather on a hot day-to-night dress. Then menswear meets femme with vests and blazers pulled over breezy Spring whites and floating sheer tops. Just a little complicated, the place where practicality gets a perfectly playful edge.
