Agyness Deyn Married Actor Giovanni Ribisi Last Week

File this under unions no one saw coming: Agyness Deyn eloped with actor Giovanni Ribisi last Friday.

File this under unions no one saw coming: Agyness Deyn eloped with actor Giovanni Ribisi last Friday. According to Crown City News, the couple was spotted "passionately kissing" in line at the eastern branch of the Los Angeles County Registrar's office. When asked if they were there to get married, they shyly said yes. Ribisi also added that he and Deyn had been dating for "a while."

A spokesperson for Ribisi confirmed the happy news on Thursday afternoon, saying, "Agyness Deyn and Giovanni Ribisi quietly married in Los Angeles over the weekend." Deyn previously dated Josh Hubbard of The Paddingtons for four years but ended the relationship in 2008. She told The Daily Mail in March that she hadn't dated anyone for several months, partially due to her hectic acting schedule.

"The fact is I'm choosy, but mainly about a man's character," she said. "He has to be interesting, funny, and clever. I don't even mind if he's not very good-looking."

Agyness Deyn will play the heroine in a film adaptation of Sunset Song, a 1930s novel about a woman running a family farm in the face of growing economic pressure.

Deyn's role as Chris Guthrie, the movie's female protagonist, is her first lead in a major motion picture. Terence Davies will direct the film and Peter Mullan has been cast as Deyn's costar. Filming will start later this year.

"When I read the script I fell completely in love with the character and the story," Deyn said. "I can't wait to get started and just hope that I can do Chris Guthrie justice!"

Deyn has starred in a number of short films and played Aphrodite in the 2010 movie Clash of the Titans. This Spring she landed a role in a British production of The Leisure Society. Take a look at all her roles — onscreen and off — in the gallery.

This Week's Best Dressed

>> The first full week of Spring brought plenty of inspiring new-season styles — and even a few surprises.
Elizabeth Olsen

>> The first full week of Spring brought plenty of inspiring new-season styles — and even a few surprises.

Brooklyn Decker traded in her usual low-key ensembles for a plethora of out-of-this-world designer looks: Giambattista Valli, Isabel Marant, and Stella McCartney each made appearances at photocalls for the actress's new film, Battleship. Models Miranda Kerr, Lara Stone, Candice Swanepoel, Karolina Kurkova, Agyness Deyn, Jessica White, and a newly-brunette Jessica Stam were also all spotted out and about — and though each looked just as chic as ever, it was their two very pregnant colleagues, Molly Sims and Lily Aldridge, who really stole the show.

There were also plenty of standout casual styles spotted on the streets — Elizabeth Olsen and Emma Roberts each looked effortless in transitional coat-and-trouser ensembles, and Kate Moss and Jessica Alba each sported rose-hued jeans.

However, perhaps it was Elletra Wiedemann who most aptly captured the week's prevailing mood, when at an event hosted by Vogue and Tod's. She exclaimed, "I really just wanted to dress up!"

See who made the list— and what everyone wore — right here in our best-of-the-week slideshow.

Agyness Deyn Gets Rebellious For James Franco's Lens

    When does James Franco sleep?

When does James Franco sleep? In addition to being an actor, director, author, and grad student, the multi-hyphenate superstar is now trying his hand at fashion photography. His debut for Elle — a gritty, winsome editorial called "Chateau Dreams" — was inspired by Rebel Without a Cause and paints Agyness Deyn as an androgynous beauty roaming the streets (and skies) of Los Angeles. Franco also depicts models Natalia Bonifacci and Imogen Poots in a similar gender-bending aesthetic — ties, men's shirts, and leather jackets — making for one impressive undertaking by the multitalented actor. The shoot is part of Franco’s contemporary art project which debuts this Summer at the Venice Biennale, and you can see all of the photos now on Elle.com.
