Between a long list of parties, premieres, and store openings, you can bet the week was awash in celebrity glamour. In just the past seven days, we've been treated to an onslaught of cocktail dresses, from the likes of Erin Heatherton and Alexa Chung, no less, while dressier occasions, like this week's Angel Ball, drew out a stunning look from Bar Refaeli in a plum-hued Roberto Cavalli gown. There's more inside from this mostly dressed-up crew, and if you're craving some casual inspiration, there's a few of those, too. Flip through for all the details on this week's top 10.
Versace held a cocktail reception in NYC last night and among the fashionable stars to attend was Alexa Chung, who showed up in a head-to-toe maroon look. Monochrome outfits can seem hard to pull off, but as exemplified by Alexa, they can turn out to be totally chic when done right. The socialite tucked a maroon turtleneck into a maroon zip-front leather skirt and carried a matching circle bag. She then added a bit of contrasting color via black cutout flats and a black coat. If you dare to walk in Alexa's fashion-forward shoes, shop similar pieces below to get her latest look.
Alexa Chung's much-awaited appearance on the Upper East Side has finally come, and though her one-line cameo — in which she emphatically announces "there's no way in hell I'm going out there" right before ditching Blair's fiasco of a fashion show — lasts all but a few seconds, it's still pretty fun to watch. Judging from Chung's cheery "I was on Gossip Girl last night. Lol," tweet this morning, it sounds like the model-TV presenter-clothing designer and soon to be author definitely got a kick out of the mini appearance as well.
Just in case you missed it, here it is.
Between Elle's Women of the Year awards to kick it off and Bergdorf's anniversary party at the Plaza to close it out, it's been one very glamorous week in the way of celebrity style. But beyond the red carpets, you've likely already seen another side of celebrity style — still chic, but ever-so-slightly dressed down. From Hilary Rhoda in delicate lace to Alexa Chung in a sweet Fall jumpsuit and the ever-polished Olivia Palermo in a tuxedo jacket and metallic brogues, the inspiration abounds in this week's top 10. Click on for the full report.
Alexa Chung, Sofia Coppola, and Clemence Poesy were among those who braved the rain Monday night to fete Acne Paper's Issue 14. Held at New York's storied Four Seasons Restaurant, the champagne-filled soiree featured live jazz from the Blue Velvet quintet, while music stands placed around the room showcased copies of the paper. At 272 pages, it's the magazine's biggest issue yet, and also the first time it's been entirely dedicated to a single locale. "We could have chosen London, Paris, Berlin, or any other city of cosmopolitan importance, but we took Manhattan," editor in chief Thomas Persson explained. "During our many visits to the Big Apple we have had the great fortune of befriending a number of wonderful people who have only taken a keen interest in our publication but who have also helped shape it." Perhaps some of those friends were also in attendance — we spied fashion vets Simon Doonan, Lily Donaldson, Hanne Gaby Odiele, Olivier Theyskens, and Monique Pean all there and having a pretty grand time. An inside look at all the fun, here.

Nude lips are a hot look for Fall, and these three ladies showed how to make the trend your own. Halle Berry opted for a glossy beige lipstick, while Alexa Chung grabbed a rosy-pink color. And Solange Knowles, ever the fashion-forward lady, opted for a matte shade that matched her skin tone. All, however, paired their barely there style with dark liner to ground the look. Three different shades for three different women, but whose topped your list this week?

Chanel's 80th anniversary celebration of their Bijoux de Diamants fine jewelry collection brought a star-studded red carpet in NYC last night. Blake Lively arrived with husband Ryan Reynolds wearing a backless silver Chanel dress and her sparkly new wedding ring. January Jones was also in a look from the designer, as was Elle Fanning. January's Mad Men costar Jessica Paré made an appearance alongside a Chanel-clad Diane Kruger, who spent the afternoon shopping in the Big Apple before stepping out for the glamorous event. Alexa Chung and Rose Byrne were also on hand to fete the iconic brand. The celebrations will continue next week when an exhibit featuring Chanel's 1932 collection goes on display at the Museum of Modern Art.
