Alice + Olivia's presentation always draws a celebrity crowd — and that's exactly where we ran into The Carrie Diaries star AnnaSophia Robb. So what did the actress filling Carrie Bradshaw's famous shoes have to say about fashion? Watch to hear AnnaSophia talk about her favorite fashion decade, fun on set, and the style secrets she's learned from costume designer Eric Daman. It's all right here!
We spotted Victoria Justice taking in the Alice + Olivia Fall '13 collection, and we couldn't resist catching up with star on what's next, what she thinks is sexy (Valentine's Day is almost here, after all!), and how she approaches personal style. Among the brunette beauty's revelations? She's got brand-new music on the way! For more updates straight from Victoria Justice, just keep watching.
Stacey Bendet's girl got a dose of the opulent, the preppy, and the whimsical — which all make sense when you consider that Alice + Olivia's Fall 2013 was conceived with the designer's belief that there are no limits when it comes to personal style. No limits indeed; this season Bendet drew from our obsession with street style (how fitting for NYFW!), crafting a lineup that's both playful and cool, or as Bendet maybe defines it best: "fantasy street style." That's the common denominator — rather than adhering to any one trend, this was a world where the Baroque-inspired, glamorous, punk, and polished played off each other (we imagine a little like Stacey's own closet). Pieces like a quirky zebra crossbody bag and cheeky heels with faces spoke for themselves, the kind of one-offs street-style stars and celebrities will be wearing for the Fall (and getting snapped when they do).
- The set: Highline Stages were transformed into a French salon, with decadent chandeliers and waiters passing trays of bubbly.
- The front row: The Young Hollywood set — Katharine McPhee, Maggie Grace, Victoria Justice, Vanessa Hudgens, and The Carrie Diaries' AnnaSophia Robb.
- Trends: Plaid, florals, fur, lace.
- Key piece: As always, Bendet's line was stocked with sweet party frocks; this was also a first glimpse of her new hosiery collection, Alice + Olivia by Pretty Polly which launches this Fall.
Gwyneth Paltrow arrived at LAX to catch a flight in her signature casual-meets-cool travel outfit. And while we can't deny the classic appeal of her gray tee, faded jeans, and gray booties, we couldn't help but zoom in on two noticeably new additions to her jet-set getup: her black-and-white bags from Alice + Olivia's Spring 2013 collection and her bird tattoo. OK, so technically that's three new things to take note of. Neither Gwyneth's satchel nor tote is available to shop yet, but we don't — and shouldn't! — have to wait to get in on the sleek dual-tone look. What we love most about black-and-white bags is that, besides the fact that black and white are the hottest color couple right now, they feature two neutral hues that will go with just about anything in your closet. Plus, they're the easiest way to add instant sophistication to any piece, especially with your go-to denim. Thus, taking a cue from Gwyneth, we hunted down 17 equally fabulous black-and-white bags to add to your closet now.
Actress Jamie Chung hung out at Chateau Marmont last night looking ever so sleek in a black biker coat with leather lapels. Underneath it she wore a simple white V-neck tee, faded skinny jeans, which she cuffed at the bottom, and black Alice + Olivia snakeskin pumps ($295). For a much-needed pop of color, Jamie completed her nighttime ensemble via this green Proenza Schouler PS1 satchel ($1,995). Score Jamie's exact bag and shoes, then pair them with this almost-identical black biker coat from ASOS ($190) and your favorite jeans.
Jamie Chung posed with actress Carla Gugino at an event at LA's Soho House last night working the colorblock trend in this chic Kate Spade black and white dress ($398). The actress accessorized with a nude Chanel bag, Alice + Olivia pumps ($295), and gold tassel earrings. Score Jamie's exact colorblock dress to wear this Fall — bonus, it's made of wool so it will keep you warm all season! You can dress it up with jewels and heels for night, or you can throw it on over a turtleneck, tights, and pumps for work.
Kristin Cavallari and baby Camden arrived at LAX airport with the new mom looking effortlessly stylish in her soft-pink Alice + Olivia blazer ($367). Underneath it, she wore a white camisole, on the bottom, black skinny jeans and black Chinese Laundry ballet flats ($60), and on her eyes, square blackout sunglasses. Score Kristin's exact blazer, and it will serve as a fashionable companion all Fall and through next Spring and Summer. Throw it on over a little black dress and pumps for work, leather pants and booties for dinner, and a sequined miniskirt and high-heeled sandals for a dazzling night out.
Polka dots have been a classic for ages, but we adore how Hollywood's hottest ladies have taken the trend to totally playful heights. Krysten Ritter chose this Alice + Olivia black-and-white polka-dot dress ($596) for her appearance at The Grove in LA, Sarah Jessica Parker sported a flirty colorful retro polka-dot dress on her way out of her NYC apartment, and Emma Stone chose a sequined polka-dot Luca Luca gown when doing promotions for The Help. Whether you prefer a flare, fitted, or maxi dress, shop our favorite picks below to get the celebrity-approved look for when you're feeling sassy.
Jenna Dewan and her 10 Years costars, including husband Channing Tatum and Rosario Dawson, all gathered in NYC to promote their new flick, out now. For the brunch, Jenna tucked this contrast-collar Alice + Olivia blouse ($297) into this gorgeous turquoise tweed Alice + Olivia skirt ($242). She finished off with black patent pumps and light-pink lipstick for a contrast pop of color. We love the juxtaposition of Jenna's professional-chic top and her ladylike skirt — score them now to wear together at work or separately for weekend fun. The blouse would polish up ripped jeans perfectly, and the skirt would shine with a slouchy gray tee.
It's actress and model Byrdie Bell's job to look good in front of the cameras, and she didn't disappoint when she styled a yellow tweed Alice + Olivia miniskirt ($297) with a black leather jacket at the Alice + Olivia show Spring 2013 show at New York Fashion Week. Byrdie's white button-down blouse and suede nude Herve Leger pumps let her textured bottoms take the spotlight, while her tan Hermés tote injected major luxe. Show off your gams in Byrdie's exact tweed skirt all Fall by pairing it with tights or leggings and a cozy coat when the temperatures start to fall.
