When Carine Roitfeld took the helm of Vogue Paris in 2001, she transformed the magazine into a chic, risk-taking publication. Today's news of her resignation surprised many people, including those who admired her unusual and unique style. We've put together 20 of the best covers from her reign at the magazine. Some are sexy, some are soft, but all have that Roitfeld touch we've come to love.
Nicolas Ghesquiere, Sick of Clone Models, Cast Gisele, Carolyn Murphy, and Pregnant Miranda Kerr for Balenciaga Spring 2011
>> Nicolas Ghesquiere's Spring 2011 model cast grabbed as much attention — if not more — than the clothes; and it seems that he devoted just as much time curating his model troupe as designing this season.
In June, the Balenciaga team started a street casting tour: in London, Amsterdam, Berlin, Copenhagen, Belgium, and Australia, eventually turning up seven girls — Ghesquiere called them "characters" — a dancer, an artist . . . all willing to have their hair bleached or dyed black and cut into a punky crop specifically for the show. Alongside those girls — among them was Alexander Wang opener Britt Maren — the cast included a parade of notables: Stella Tennant, Amber Valletta, Carolyn Murphy, a pregnant Miranda Kerr, with Gisele Bündchen closing. "I was sick of the clone-model thing," the designer offered as explanation, adding: "It's about individuality."
The show also explored “bringing out the man that is in every woman,” according to the designer, who sourced the collection's houndstooth pattern from a 1965 Cristobal Balenciaga silk column dress. Also featured: in his first time since joining Balenciaga, Ghesquiere did flats, creeper-style.
Most of you said you wouldn't be interested in a Jimmy Choo and Ugg collaboration, but what do you say now that the Fall advertising campaign is out? Pretty hot, right? It features old-school American supermodel Amber Valletta, clad in a tough leather jacket, denim cutoffs, and the star of the shot, the limited-edition UGG boots with silver and gold grommets. It was shot by Ines Van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin in front of the St. Regis hotel in New York City to convey the laid-back East Coast lifestyle. Do you buy it?
Anna Kendrick was fresh off her interview with Jay Leno to attend the launch of the BlackBerry Torch last night in LA. She was joined by Twilight's Nikki Reed, who stuck close to her pal DJ Qualls. Lea Michele was in her latest short number to hang out with her fellow Glee actor Mark Salling, as the pair gears up for the Emmys on Aug. 29, which happens to also be her birthday! Lea recently told us their nominations are a dream come true — be sure to fill out your award show ballot and enter to win an iPad! Rashida Jones rounded out the list of well-dressed attendees, as Michelle Trachtenberg left her Gossip Girl pals behind in NYC to mingle with The Nanny's Nicholle Tom. Christina Ricci fielded lots of questions about her recent experience filming Bel Ami with Robert Pattinson — check out video after the jump!

Amber Valletta was spotted leaving a lunch in Brentwood, CA dressed stylishly in an Isabel Marant dress and Chanel bag. Although her exact dress isn't available online, this one by Juicy Couture has a similar feel, so wear it with these gladiator sandals and you'll have Amber's look in no time.
Amber Valletta has clearly not lost her Supermodel touch. Her latest gig is playing a sexy blond bombshell for Jimmy Choo's Fall ad campaign. And what a bombshell she is! Those platinum curls, the sexy Dolce & Gabbana pencil skirts and lace tanks, and of course, those glam Choo accessories are the recipe for success. Much like the Spring '09 ads with Angela Lindvall. Agreed?
Kate Bosworth put on a fancy pair of red leather pants last night for a cocktail party thrown by Valentino in LA. She was joined by fellow fashionistas like Chloe Sevigny and Nicole Richie, who arrived after attending a benefit with Joel and Benji Madden. Stephen Moyer was one of the lucky guys to attend the bash, and he stuck close to his fiancee and True Blood costar, Anna Paquin, before their brand-new mini-episodes air Sunday. Kate didn't have Alexander Skarsgard by her side, but she could at least catch up with his costars Stephen and Anna and tell them all about her and Alexander's recent shirtless- and bikini-filled getaway to Coachella.

Nicole Richie met up with fellow mom and fashion designer Amber Valletta yesterday for a meal in LA. It was the latest in Nicole's recent lunch date trend after last week's afternoon with good friend Jennifer Meyer. Nicole kept the celebrity parent support going last night when she threw on a kimono and headed to the Trousdale club to celebrate the launch of Christina Aguilera's new album. Most of you were excited to hear what Christina's been working on, though today's big reveal was just the lyrics to her new single rather than the actual track.

Last night, a beautiful bevy of celebs flocked toward Vera Wang's boutique opening party. In celebration of Vera's new LA address, Renée Zellweger wore a two-toned strapless dress; Amber Valletta donned a textural LBD; Rachel Zoe fluttered in an intricate organza piece; Reese shined in a satin purple frock; and Mila dazzled in an artsy gray and black creation. With exception of Zoe's frock, the rest are all Vera. Which party look do you prefer?
Renee Zellweger and Reese Witherspoon stepped out in purple last night to celebrate the opening of Vera Wang's new LA boutique. The ladies were joined by a fresh from Milan Fashion Week Rachel Zoe, her husband Rodger Berman, and Mila Kunis, who was stunning in her latest black look. Figure skater Evan Lysacek was there to support Vera after she designed his Olympic costumes, and he posed for a few photos with fellow gold medalist Bruce Jenner. Reese and Renee were almost able to share the pleasure of both being close to Bradley Cooper — Renee's boyfriend, though, just had to drop out of This Means War with Reese due to a scheduling conflict with The Hangover 2.
