>> After five consecutive Chanel campaigns — ending with the Fall 2011 set styled by Carine Roitfeld — it sounds like Freja Beha Erichsen's reign has come to an end. Roitfeld and Karl Lagerfeld reteamed over the weekend at the Hôtel du Cap-Eden-Roc in Antibes, France, where Lagerfeld shot Saskia de Brauw and Joan Smalls for the Spring 2012 Chanel ads, which are “all about athletics and the sea. . . . It’s very modern sportif and in black and white,” according to the designer. He is now headed to Rome to shoot Fendi's Spring 2012 campaign with Arizona Muse, who will pose on the city's streets at dawn and dusk. She replaces Anja Rubik, who has been the face of Fendi for the past four seasons. [WWD]

At the Cannes premiere of This Must Be The Place, legendary catwalker Claudia Schiffer and runway stunner Anja Rubik went head-to-head on the red carpet, both clad in sexy black gowns — and both with little left to the imagination. Claudia sported a lace bustier Dolce & Gabbana gown, accessorizing with layered diamond necklaces and a pair of black pumps. Anja's dress may have been full-length and long-sleeved, but it wasn't exactly modest. The Emilio Pucci gown was covered in sequins, and featured an ornate pattern made up of tiny holes. Both models looked gorgeous — but who did black peekaboo best?

Anja Rubik donned a playful, feather-covered Pucci minidress and hot pink bejeweled heels for the amfAR Gala in Cannes yesterday. While the outfit looks like an innocent — and very fun — party outfit, it's actually a seriously expensive endeavor: Chopard and Guiseppe Zanotti partnered to create Anja's shoes, which were covered with $180,000 worth of jewels. The heels, boasting diamonds, pink sapphires, rubies, and russellites, were auctioned off for $200,000 at the Gala. While we're not sure what Anja wore after her shoes were sold to the highest bidder, we're optimistic the leggy model still looked party-ready.
