There are some trends that are thought to be reserved for tennis, boating, or perfecting your golf swing, but Chloe Moretz squashed those stereotypes, making argyle look street chic after touching down at LAX. The young star paired her navy-and-nude argyle turtleneck with black skinnies and multitexture wedges, then layered on a charcoal leather jacket for extra cool. She carried her travel essentials in two leather shoulder bags — a brown messenger and a black Miu Miu — while shading her peepers with black circle sunnies. Snag Chloe's downtown hip with a similar argyle sweater and leather jacket, or go classic by wearing your argyle with a white button-down, cuffed denim, and boat shoes.
This tiny chair was perfect for my good pal's little bun in the oven, but was definitely in need of a little flair.
On to the game plan. With a little sanding, priming, painting, argyle-ing, and sealing this chair was prepped for the soon-to-be sweetest little boy on the planet.

As long as the Pre-Fall goodies keep coming, we're going to keep sharing. This time, we have collections from Gucci, Prada, and Miu Miu. I like how Miuccia Prada experimented with texture in both of her collections. The Miu Miu line offered more whimsical pieces while Prada stuck to luxurious sophistication. For Gucci, Frida Giannini stunned me with slick, British intention. I'm in lust with the abundance of turquoise plaid and argyle like this outfit. It's so grungy cool. I'm not much of a prepster, but I've always appreciated the graphic goodness of argyle. The diamond checkerboard pattern has a unique three-dimensional quality that's simply eye-catching. But, don't get any ideas: I won't be sporting an argyle sweater vest any time soon. I'd certainly integrate the Lunar Lounge Argyle Midcentury Shelving Unit into my apartment, though! The multifunctional storage system can store all types of media and decorative items and also serve as a room divider (great for a studio), allowing privacy without adding a visual heaviness to the space. Although it's a midcentury design, I think it still looks modern and fresh.

Diamond shapes in colorful patterns on a solid background. Primarily used in sweaters and socks. Original pattern of the Clan Campbell, of Argyll in western Scotland. Often associated with a polished and classic style of dressing.

Argyle isn't just for socks anymore. Lately, this classic, preppy diamond pattern has been showing up in the most unexpected places, from shoes to arm warmers and even a tube top. Something about taking argyle out of the sock and sweater-vest context suddenly makes this potentially stodgy fabric look very funky and fun. Here are some of my favorite argyle finds.
