We Hope You Like Beanies, Because BCBG Max Azria's Fall '13 Is Full of Them
BCBG Max Azria's Fall 2013 collection was a '90s-inspired, multilayered glimpse at what we'll be wearing later this year (if not right now). With bone-chilling temperatures plaguing the East Coast, there's a chance we may be copying the cool dresses-over-pants-over-long-sleeved-shirts look as soon as tomorrow. And the beanies! We couldn't get over the slouchy, grunge-chic knit beanies that graced each model's head — a nod to gypset glamour meets downtown elegance. Work an Oxblood Leather Skirt Into Your Fall Mix à la Kristin Cavallari
Kristin Cavallari may have just had a baby boy, but her sheer stripe BCBGMAXAZRIA top ($85), red leather Veda skirt, and beige ankle-strap Zara platforms showed off her fit figure while running errands in Hollywood. In true SoCal manner, Kristin completed her look with a no-fuss ponytail, gold hoop earrings, and her engagement ring. Black leather skirts are abundant in Hollywood, but oxblood is quickly becoming the It color for Fall, which is why we particularly love Kristin's choice. Pair a dark red leather skirt with everything from a printed button-down blouse for the office to this colorful Madewell cardigan ($92) for a cozy date night.

Score Elizabeth Olsen's Rust Fedora and Blue Suede Oxfords For Fall
Elizabeth Olsen fought the NYC chill in a stylish layered look complete with chic accessories — blue suede Pour La Victoire oxfords ($250), a rust BCBGMAXAZRIA fedora ($24, originally $58), and a classic black leather tote. The actress started with a knit oatmeal sweater and black leather pants, then layered a blue peacoat and red-piped scarf for extra warmth. Shop Elizabeth's exact shoes and hat to work with slick leather pants — or these faux leather Romeo & Juliet Couture leggings ($49, originally $130) —and a cozy oatmeal sweater and navy peacoat for a street-chic style that's both fashionable and functional. BCBGMAXAZRIA Spring 2013
If we told you leather, lace, and harnesses dominated BCBG’s Spring 2013 collection, you might think designers Max and Lubov Azria were up to some sexy provocation, but when delivered via fluid silhouettes and with plenty of soft silk, the result was a dreamy mix of ethereal and utilitarian. Dresses dominated, most of them in silk crepe cut with cream or black lace, and all worn with a leather harness. Sounds weird, but it worked, and there are sure to be some street stylers sporting the trend next season. Show notes said the collection was inspired by the femme fatale muses and high contrast of Helmut Newton's black and white photography, a message that was felt in the sculptural cuts of a black crepe dress with strong shoulders. There was a quieter second story involving denim, which was used as a detail rather than the main fabric, but this didn't feel as compelling as the combination of leather and lace on a flowy dress.
- Trends: Leather harnesses, lace, sculptural proportions, jumpsuits.
- Colors: Black, coral, talc, dusty pink.
- Key Piece: The opening set of talc crepe shirt dresses with harnesses made a big statement.
- Accessories: Leather portfolios and perforated leather ankle-strap shoes.
- Who Should Wear It: You have to be brave to don the harness, and Zoe Saldana could definitely pull this off, but let's look for Selita Ebanks to don one of the dresses as she was sitting in the front row.
BCBGMAXAZRIA Spring 2013
The intricate leather harnesses in BCBGMAXAZRIA's Spring 2013 collection toughened up the line's workwear and gave otherwise sweet dresses serious sex appeal. Inspired by the women in Helmut Newton's iconic black-and-white photography, many of the looks were monochromatic, but their construction was anything but simple. In addition to being adorned with straps of leather, dresses combined printed silk, lace, and — in some cases — chambray all in the same garments. Luckily, the fabrics were light enough that they didn't compete with one another, and instead formed soft, fluid silhouettes.
Kristen Stewart's New Fashion Formula: Bandage Skirts and High-Tops
Kristen Stewart attended the 2012 Comic-Con in San Diego showcasing a hot new fashion formula: a white cropped Fluxus tee and bright-yellow bandage BCBGMAXAZRIA skirt, finished off with black high-top Barbara Bui sneakers — here is the gold version ($680). Both bandage skirts and sneakers are trendy on their own, but we love the way Kristen brought them together for a sexy-slash-sporty pairing. Next time you're about to reach for your bandage skirt, don't forget to grab your sneakers, too. The look is way fresher and funkier than the usual bandage skirts with platform heels. Kim Kardashian's All-White Outfit Is a Fresh Way to Spend Summer
Kim Kardashian looked fresh as ever in all white while visiting the Children's Hospital in LA with boyfriend Kanye West. Her tan suede Celine bag and Balenciaga peep-toe booties lent just the right amount of color and texture to her look. Summer is the perfect time to experiment with an all-white ensemble, be it a white open blazer, white tank, and white skinny jeans like Kim; a white tee with white shorts and a white denim jacket; or a little white dress with a white cardigan. Although Kim's white BCBGMAXAZRIA blazer isn't available — here is the blush version ($201, originally $268) — you can pair any crisp white jacket with a white tank and white jeans to achieve her refreshing look.
